Don't know why he shouldn't start here. Hasn't looked one bit out of place on the big team.

Did Wills just say Cail MacLean was in charge of the PP at the end of last season?

That was the dumbest ass 3rd goal ever for the Jets. Other than that, liked the game.

That is not how to play a two man advantage. Hey, let's just blast everything from the point thus negating that advantage. Just terrible. Get the puck down low and get guys moving into the slot bumper position ready for the pass.

Probably deserved better in this one. A lot of chances were just off the mark.
Helle-yuck steals it in the third.

Surprised they didn't make Hellebuick a star - he was the difference in the game

It's like the ghost of Savard is still here..
Will they practice their PP this year?

They've given up 35 goals so far in the pre-season.
Who would have ever guessed that their D and goaltending might not be 'cup favourite worthy'

Shakey d zone coverage and leaving your goalie hanging is becoming a trend.
That’s usually fixable via coaching.

Lots of praise to go around to a lot of players for the Flames tonight. This is how I see the majority of the season transpiring - good, competitive hardworking team that loses more of then than wins, but is rarely out of it. This is the proper way to rebuild a franchise - you keep the culture, and your young players learn to play in a competitive environment with all the pressure that it brings. Fans enjoy what they see, even if the wins aren't there.
I actually see a lot of similarities with the 2013-14 Flames team in terms of 'easy to cheer for' and 'competitiveness'. There will be some lulls and probably a couple of losing streaks that last a bit too long, but this should still be an enjoyable season to watch.
Now we all hold our breath to see what the opening day roster is, who gets put on waivers, and what other players get put on waivers around the league.

Get used to it - we have a very green defense.

Flames played hard, lots to like in this game. They certainly compete every shift.
Hellebuyck was good. Klapka and Honzek played well, I dont think you can send either guy down at this point.
Not sure if the Sharangovich-Kadri-Kuzminko line is ideal. Kadri doesn't seem to see his linemates and those 2 guys need a set up man to do what they do best.
All in all a great preseason by the Flames. Let's get the season started!

Bummer on the last goal. Prior to the face-off, when we iced the puck, that whole sequence started because Rasmus didn't move the puck up quick enough. I'm nitpicking but if there was one thing he does often that I don't like, it's exactly that, holding on to the puck way too long.
