Feel bad for Schroder... The day after he called the trade deadline "modern day slavery".

Schroder doesn't seem to be all that well liked. Wasn't a fan of his in Toronto either.

In any case, seems like Golden State gave up quite a bit. I've never been a Wiggins guy but I'd think they'd be able to do a 1 for 1 given the Heat situation. In any case I wouldn't be surprised if Wiggins if flipped tomorrow.

I really hope OKC wins it all this year. A team that resisted bringing in elite players and broke up futures to win a title. I know the Celtics sort of did that themselves, although Porziņģis came from the Wizards. Selfishly I want SGA to win both the MVP and title this year. It's their time, and The Thunder are due a title after going through the Durant/Westbrook/Harden days.

Of course there are the Nuggets as well, they went that same path. A team everyone seems to like.

Raptors trade for Brandon Ingram

https://www.tsn.ca/nba/toronto-rapto...cans-1.2247615

Kind of a strange move if they're in rebuild mode.

Not committing to a rebuild has been weird.

Hopefully it's the 2026 pick from Indiana and I'm guessing they think they can re-sign him

Raptors have now turned Siakam into Ingram, Agbaji, Walter, and Shead. Pretty solid work.

Glad to hear it's Indy's 2026 pick. I'm still hopeful the Raptors will finish in the bottom 5/6 this season and am super high on Masai's ability to find a star regardless of where they pick. The rough outlook for next season:

Barnes
Barrett
Quickley
Poeltl
Ingram

Dick
Top 5 Pick
Agbaji
Boucher
Walter
Shead
Mogbo

Don’t like this trade unless Ingram can somehow actually stay on the court. Guy is an injury waiting to happen.

Yeah, not a fan of Ingram, but I do trust Masai when evaluating talent. His timing is off though at times on trades.

Kinda hate this trade, but how good it ends up being pretty much comes down to how much they can get back on the tank train and get a top 3 or so pick this year. Cause if they play their way into the 8th pick this year then this trade is a disaster because next years team will be a fringe play in contender instead of a tank contender, and it'll basically trap them in the creamy middle they just got themselves out of.

I have no idea what Masai has been doing for the last 5 years and the result show

I guess if Ingram stays hurt for the rest of this year, and you shut down everyone else to (hopefully) get a top pick to pair with this group next year they might... sneak into playoffs?

IF Ingram is healthy, then odds are they're a playoff team. Beyond that I'm not sure. They've rebuilt without a superstar - a classic Raptors identity. But they need a star or two to get there. I read the Grange article that Barrett was potentially going back in this trade at one point. And he does seem to be the guy to trade at his peak when the time is right. Long term I think to get that star player in the starting five one or both of Ingram and Barrett are dealt. Dick is looking alright. There are a lot of "alright" players on the team, but some of that has to be cashed in for star status guys who can take the ball and cash in at will.

The trade cost the Raptors very little, so it seems pretty good in terms of asset management. They’ve now got a handful of good but not great players, and a solid amount of depth, so if a star ever did become available there would be a pretty decent package to put together.

But when stars are avail teams want 3-4 firsts and pick swaps.

Not overpaid ok players

I think the Raps have a hard time signing free agents. So they’re taking on this guy because he likes the city (he’s said that on record when he was with New Orleans) and he’s obligated to be here. If he pans out, great, if he doesn’t you can flip him for the same package more or less. I really wish they said to hell with it and just tanked this year. It’s one of those years where finishing bottom three is important long term. This drags on the fizzy middle, which isn’t a great place to be for this long.

Ingram is currently injured, isnt he? Moving Brown, Olynyk and Mitchell should help this years tank assuming Ingram doesn’t play a lot the rest of the year.

The Miami Heat acquired guard Davion Mitchell from the Toronto Raptors on Thursday in exchange for P.J. Tucker, a second-round pick and cash, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.

TSN's Josh Lewenberg notes that Toronto will likely buy out Tucker's contract once the reported deal is finalized.

IQ, RJ, Ingram, Scottie, Poeltl is a very competitive starting lineup. Been a while! I for one am looking forward to watching a team that wins more than they lose!

Exactly what I'm hoping for.

Also hope it allows the Raptors to re-sign Ingram for a number lower than expected.

Don't really get why Lewenberg from TSN is saying rebuild over, this team is still on track to get a top 5/6 pick in a top-heavy draft.
