Still early.

I can picture him as the Swedish Adam Pardy. He might bounce around different organizations though.

Is he from the little known Swedish village of Bönävistä?

It was a rare night for Hurtig, who picks up 2a, and was +1 in a 6-5 OT loss to Tri-City.

Are there JFresh cards for prospects like this? Or those fancy stat comparisons with players who made it?

Not sure, but I can tell you that the coaches and scouts LOVE Jamieson. There was a video from camp where his name was mentioned as a player who impressed. He's a leader and a character kid who prefers the stay-at-home style.

I've never been a fan of Hurtig's, but there must be a reason he was drafted. When I did a write-up of what I saw at the U-18's in 2023, I described Hurtig and his partner Kristian Kostadinski, who was drafted 12 picks after Hurtig by the Bruins, as "a couple of Frankenstein's Monsters". He's still only 19 yo, though.

Did they take away Hurtig's two assist game the other day? That's actually really funny. Like they were so doubtful that he could record two assists that they re-examined the plays and found that he, indeed, did not touch the puck.

Good catch- it looks like they indeed did take away his points from the game on the 11th, the poor kid…

Hurtig seems to be quietly having a pretty good season so far despite the lack of points.

He has been leading the Hitmen in +/- the entire season, he's one of the reasons why the Hitmen are tied for 2nd in the WHL on the PK, and he's regularly suiting up for the Swedish U20 team with decent chance at being their 6/7 dman at the WJC

It's looking pretty good for a 7th round pick if he keeps this up. The only question is whether he ends up as another Adam Ollas Mattsson (who is the #1D on his SEL team) or if he can elevate his game enough to crack the NHL.

Those are certainly the areas where you want a guy like Hurtig to excel. Good post.

edit: tweet now deleted, but it looked like Mews scored a hattrick but his 3rd goal is now credited to a teammate... still 2g+1a with 20 mins left
