Tough to be a small guy this year.
Only 3 players drafted in the 2024 draft are listed below 5'10''
All 3 taking in the 5th round or later.
Only 10 players drafted are listed at 5'10'' and below.
One small player, Alexander Zetterberg 5'8'' 159lbs (no relation to Henrik) was well reviewed by most publications and went undrafted.
Ranked #79 by CONSOLIDATED RANKING
Ranked #120 by ELITEPROSPECTS.COM
Ranked #53 by TSN/CRAIG BUTTON
Ranked #86 by THN/FERRARI
Ranked #96 by MCKEEN'S HOCKEY
Ranked #79 by FLOHOCKEY/CHRIS PETERS
Ranked #74 by FCHOCKEY
Ranked #67 by DAILY FACEOFF
Ranked #30 by NHL CENTRAL SCOUTING (EU Skaters)
Ranked #77 by DRAFT PROSPECTS HOCKEY
Ranked #70 by SPORTSNET/BUKALA

He was adamant that Conroy would be sending picks out for roster players.

I was regurgitating what guys like Wes Gilbertson were saying. I just report what I hear.

No you took what he said at the end of year presser and said he was trading the picks.
It’s ok.
I think we made a bet as well, when I said we will use all our picks.

Without reading this whole thread, I'd be interested to hear why anybody gave it less then at least a B+.

Went into the draft with 9 picks, made 10 picks
I'm diggin' Craig Conroy as the GM

To me it’s the first time following a draft and our draft thread where what posters were wanting actually came to fruition.
I use Scorps wanting of Stankoven or how others wanted Lane Hutson as examples where this time it seems like all the players posters wanted were actually taken AND with the next round pick.
To me that’s a great sign.

So far I've seen a few different rankings (nothing major) and flames have been an A to A+ in the 4 I've reviewed.
Most seem to be giving the flames credit for going for HIGH ceiling offensively skilled guys, where as in years past and for many decades it seems the Flames always went for big/higher floor depth guys.
I'd say I like this version of the Flames more

This is all I can really go by for determining if it was a good draft or not. Volume is a good thing and something I hope they continue to strive for. Beyond Parekh who is clearly an extremely skilled player, I'd be entirely guessing on what I'd think the rest of the players will become. You just have to trust the people who have devoted hundreds of hours into scouting these guys. Based on the number of picks though, I think you hope they have at least 2 or 3 guys who will play some type of role for the team in the future. Hopefully, one of the nine outside of Parekh will exceed expectations.

Flames still have 8 picks in '25 and 9 picks in '26 and a very good chance they will be selling and adding more picks.

I gave the draft an A, wasn't a huge fan of the last couple of picks but whatever.
Bascha and Misa could be steals. Targeting skill is a huge breath of fresh air. Really gives us all a ton of confidence going forward, really looking forward to the 2025 draft already

I can literally find you numerous occasions on Flames Talk where Wes Gilbertson said Conroy would not use all of his pics. So you're wrong again.

Daily face-off had the Flames as ranked 3rd for their picks in the draft.

Giving it a B so that I have room to give us an A next year when we win the draft lottery in a very lucky fashion.
