The Tigers' lineup is absurd. Already a juggernaut and then they get Basha and Lindstrom back today too.

Basha with Lindstrom at around the 16 minute mark early 2nd period put on a bit of a show. Announcers start talking about how Basha looks like he hasn’t missed a beat😊👍

Basha was named first star, as the Tigers win, 4-1. He had 1g, and was +1.

I thought Basha stood out as one of the better forwards in the Penticton tournament this year. Was interested to see what he would do this year. Sounds like it was injury filled. Which is too bad.

Not “filled”. A single bunk ankle that has been nagging since last long before the draft.

If this ankle thing has been bothering him since last season, as fotze suggested (and he would definitely know), then one has to wonder what his numbers would look like if he was 100% the last two years. Perhaps we got an even bigger steal than we think.

Still early yes but that draft is starting to look like it may be the best draft the flames have ever had.

“He said from the day he was going to get operated on, he was going to come back. I agreed with him just so he wouldn’t keep talking,” Desjardins smiled. “But I didn’t think there was any chance he’d be back. Like, none. And he kept saying it, and every day he went in working with the Flames. I know how impressed they were with how hard he tried and what he did. So it was pretty impressive that he was able to make it back, because that was a lot of hard work for him.”

I don’t know him, but I know some people who do, and they all say fantastic things about him and his work ethic. And apparently a really nice guy too!

Looking forward to seeing his future unfold!

With a late 1st and a couple 2nds, - you are hoping for one solid hit, and if you get 2, you've absolutely killed it. But with Gridin, Basha and Battaglia, there is a very real chance the Flames have hit on all 3.

And that's ON TOP OF drafting Parekh.

If so, that's a franchise-changing draft.

Seems like a solid player, but signing him as soon as they did signals that this management group is satisfied with the cut of his gib. Have to have guys who understand the world doesn’t revolve around them to truly develop cohesiveness on this ice, and that’s who this player must be.

From the sounds of it Basha is viewed as a Pelletier+ guy and that’s someone any team wants on the ice.

The only one that was puzzling in that draft is the Trevor Hoskin pick. Still not sure what they saw in him to pick him in the 4th round.

It was questioned...but he had a great rookie year in the NCAA...so looks less questionable now.

I think the question was where he was picked, maybe they had some sneaky info that he was going soon but a scout told me he thought he might go un-drafted completely, not because he's a bad player but because of his age.
