Yeah the first two that come to mind for me are just failed experiments: Backstrom in net (13 GA in 4 gms) and Grossman.
Most hated is easily Neal. Most disappointing is definitely Brouwer.

Hard to touch James Neal here.

Grossman sticks out to me for some reason despite being a small sample.

Mark Smith at least had a half decent garage band, The Vinyl Trees. I think I still have a CD of theirs somewhere in deep storage.

The names thrown out have been great so far. Most disappointing player (not what the OP has asked, but still), has to be our boy Huberdeau. Easily the most underperfoming player given his expectations, pay, and contract length.

It's almost unfair to pick on Grossman. He only played in 3 games and was just done at the NHL at that point. He had a decent overall career and tried to give it one last go, but his game fell off too much.

Wow, really, Titov? If anything, I'd put him as one of the most underrated Flames of all time. Guy was my favourite player as a kid, and just quietly went about putting up decent numbers.

That's a bit harsh. Titov as far from the worst player as a Flames. I think here's my list of the worst players:
Butler (won a cup with Blues after traded from Flames - I can name JBo in here but Butler's worse!)
Zyuzin
Anders Eriksson
Dingman (and he goes on to a team that wins a Stanley Cup!)
McBackup ( McElhinney - He also won a cup with the Bolts!)
Hiller
The one and only - FATA (did he even play for the Flames LOL)

No Way! You don't like his long hair? No way he's the worst player on the Flames. Sure he's a tough guy but c'mon!

Back to Dadswell, how about a guy who played for a team that won the President's Trophy but could barely get a .500 record (8-7-2). In 25 appearances, had a 4.37 goals-against average and .858 save percentage which even by 80s standards was horrific.
He was so bad he forced the Flames to trade Brett Hull to get Rick Wamsley.
Never played in the NHL ever again after that.

I do have a special dislike for Rene Bourque because he stunk for both of my teams.

The fact Chris Dingman is a 2x Stanley Cup winner is insane.

That was also Doug Dadswell haha. That was the first loss ever by the Flames to the Devils, if I remember right. Or maybe just first loss at the Meadowlands.
But I also remember Shaky D'Amour. Not good.

Was Backstrom even an experiment? I remember him being a ‘makes the money work’ part of a larger transaction, and that he agreed to waive his NTC because the Flames promised him some starts.
