And we might be already close to that point. Question is - how long will it sustain through the contract.
Huberdeau is going to get help though via the cap and Flames prospects.

His cap hit this year is 13th highest and is 12.1% of the cap. Cap is projected to go to $113 mil. If it does, his cap hit is 9.3% of the cap. He will be outside the top 20 cap hits in the next year or 2.

Add a player like Parekh, I can see Huberdeau sustaining what he is doing this year for a few years.

He doesn't need to be a 90-point guy to be somewhat valuable to this team or tradeable.

The way he changed his game might help him last longer.

Add in a guy like Marner and Parekh and this team easily moves into top third of teams for most goals scored.

He's already there IMO. If he finds a way to 70 points, he's $2million or less overpaid.

He played 9 too many games last year to be considered a rookie this year, but I agree, this is basically his first NHL season.

Among rookies, he'd be 4th in scoring behind Hutson, Celebrini, and Michkov.

If him and Zary can both develop into 60ish point forwards, that's huge for the team. They'd be a #1 centre away from having a legit top end offence.

The crazy thing about Huberdeau is that crazy stat that all but one of his assist are primary. To me that is just crazy. Would love to see where he compares to other players.

He's tied for 27th.

Sort by primary assists. Mackinnon 1st with 48.

So Huberdeau is T-33 in goals (among forwards)

And he is 27th for primary assists

But he is T-55 for total points

Top line player who isn't getting any help from his friends
