I had teary eyes throughout the ceremony. It was amazing experience for me, especially considering that Kipepr is my favouirte Flame of all times. And to re-live the 2004 Cup run at the Dome was unreal. I loved that Darryl was there. Two things that did seem a bit awkward to me during the ceremony: that he thanked everyone on the players' bench except for Phaneuf and that Kipper's wife didn't attend.

Yeah, I kept imagining how Kiprusoff was feeling when he heard all those people chanting his name while he was staring down the exact same crease he defended for us all those years.
And also how he must have felt when the Dome absolutely roared when Sharangovich scored the winning goal (I wasn't there, but it sounded incredible on TV).

He didn’t thank Stajan or Glencross either. I highly doubt it was a slight

His wife is very shy. The alumni was trying to the very last minute to try to convince her to go out but it’s too out of her comfort zone.

The Vokoun blood clot story and Kippers response made me laugh, knowing Kipper was only joking, but what a potentially awkward story for Oake to bring up.
The Vokoun story was when I wrote that he was cringe in this thread. You could see Kipper was embarrassed by it.
Especially miss watching him terrorize Hemsky coming down the boards. The guy just never seemed to learn that you shouldn’t try to to cut wide around Regehr… felt like every time the flames played the Oilers, Regehr was going to make Hemsky regret putting on skates.
A d-man like Regehr is what the Flames need for this upcoming rebuild. Plus another MacInnis would be nice!
And once more as I see people missed it earlier in the thread. The video narrated by Peter Maher just brought tears to my eyes. Glad that I was able to attend Kipper's last game as a Flame, too, as I was still a STH then before moving to BC.

Super happy that Darryl was there. He was instrumental in bringing kipper to town and probably his best move as GM. I know things didn’t end well with his tenure but really shows the character and integrity that Darryl has for the game and people. Shows a lot of class to show up to an event representing an organization that has let you go twice.
I was heavily critical of Darryl last season but it just wouldn't have been right for him to not be there tonight
