That has to be it. Really, I think the loss vs St. Louis was more revealing of this team's chances, but to lose 4 in a row at home when they are absolutely desperate for points to keep themselves relevant and then just fade away in the final 40 minutes? They don't have it.
Frustrating as it was, I feel a bit more at ease following this loss because it was truly unacceptable. This group is out of runway and the path forward has been determined by a really dreadful homestand.

Johnny leaving is what caused the ripple effect leading to the team being in the position it’s in now. Tkachuk likely told management that there’s no way he’s staying with Johnny gone, which lead to the trade with Florida. Which lead to Brad attaching a 1st to Monahan to make space to sign Kadri. Which lead to Huberdeau’s contract. One small thing can cause a big shift ya know

GM is responsible for the team not 1 or 2 players. Tre knee capped this team how we're playing the price.

Not trolling
Just wondering
I hope he returns 2 firsts and a prospect
Maybe he does
But
I fear he’s just as likely to return a 2nd a 4th and a prospect

I'll play the Tanner Jeanot card and leave it at that.

The rest of what you said still applies

Doesn't matter, what's done is done.
Have to accept the reality of where they are and take the best next step to rectify a tough situation.
If the peak of this group is 10th place, then there's no way out but down. They can't even live out their 'just get in' mantra cause they don't have the horses.
No shame in it, but there is shame in continuing to not accept it.

LOL - he made a bunch of passes to nowhere that would have gotten Huberdeau roasted here.

Stunning how quickly this team has fallen.
111 points to 93 points to what is likely to be below 80 points. Next year likely worse.
The next 2 or 3 drafts are the single biggest factors that will determine the club's fate for the next decade.

Flames have probably lost me as a STH. Sad as the tix have been in our family since Day One in the Corral.
I can score the odd game in the new building on Stub Hub.
Just a huge waste of money right now.

For a while there, the team was fun to watch, and they were getting decent results (considering). Not anymore--just horrible.
I know he's not the (main) problem, but I can't wait for Markstrom to be a memory.

I thought to myself that he would fit right in with this year's team. But that's not a compliment. I forgot at times he was even playing.

Isn’t that the truth

I disagree. I think chuckles was gone the moment he signed the bridge, and the cards fell just right for him to bail early.
