Not to mention the rest of the stuff Quebec got in the Lindros trade:
Duchesne was traded for Ron Sutter, who was part of the trade for Krupp, who scored the Cup-winning goal
Hextall was traded for the Islanders first, who was Deadmarsh, who helped win the cup and then was part of the trade to bring Blake and Reinprecht, who won another Cup.
Ricci helped the Avs win the Cup, and was traded for a 1st round pick that was Tanguay, who helped them win their second Cup
Simon won the CUp, was traded for Keith Jones, who was traded for Podein, who helped win the second Cup
They got two first round picks; the first was Thibault, who was part of the trade for Roy, and the second was Landon Wilson, who was a (minor) part of hte trade to get Lefebvre, who helped win Cups, and Clark, who turned into Claude Lemieux, who after helping with the second Cup, was traded for Rolston, who was part of the trade for Bourque.

I've never heard of either of them. So long as he doesnt score against us Anaheim can have William Cutter.

It seems more like Gauthier pulled a Fox instead of a Lindros. Lindros said explicitly he didn't want to get drafted by Quebec

Can we call him 'Bill Cutter?' Then he sounds like a Pirate.
Yarr...Bill Cutter!

Considering the jam Gauthier’s camp put them in, the Flyers did pretty well. Time was against them, and they couldn’t cast a wide net. With the Murray connection, they probably targeted Drysdale right from the outset.

Well they may be the last. Hopefully they learned a lesson. What a dumb reason to blow up a relationship with a player if true. Pretty brutal look for the Flyers.

As I recall, they paid Kesler and not Umberger and that was the end of it for them.

Still think Gauthier is ######y here. Seems obvious. They travel across the world and you don’t even talk to them? You can’t even muster up the courage to say “here’s what’s required for me to sign”? Your agent doesn’t get any of this? Lame. So enjoy him Anaheim, I’m sure he will be a treat in the dressing room.

I just wonder how die hard Gauthier and his family are in terms of Pens fans. Fandom is a different kind of religion in the states.

Fair question... but if I was a top prospect, good enough to make almost any NHL team, and the Oilers drafted me... I'd Lindros them in a heartbeat. Including not putting on the jersey.

Second of all, do you know who had 116 points that year?
PETER FORSBERG!
So get outta here with this "it was one of the greatest seasons of all time" bull####: it wasn't even the greatest individual season that frickin' year!

AGAIN 115 points in 73 games and 163 Penalty minutes
vs. 116 points in 82 games and 47 Penalty Minutes
Both of their best seasons
did I say it was the highest scoring season of all time? there is more to hockey than points, that seems lost on people these days. Lindros legit terrified opponents while putting up those numbers.
If Lindros didn't have concussion issues he would be up there with Wayne and Mario...Wayne has said so himself.
