I don't think you read those numbers quite right. They suggest that both Sharangovich and Huberdeau defend better than their numbers suggest, and are suffering from unlucky bounces against.
This matches my eye test for Sharangovich, and I'm surprised he's still a minus player despite being solid at both ends of the ice.
I don't see Huberdeau making quite as many solid defensive plays, but I guess he has been unlucky because Backlund's line mostly seems to defend well and play at the other team's end.
