I think an issue with society is being so concerned with people's sex life and sexuality that #### like this matters at all. I just don't think it's relevant or should matter. But I also accept I am probably in a minority there.
I only care about the sex lives of now late septuagenarians and early octogenarians during the 1070s. But hey I love New Hollywood.
Not sure what your personal situation is Blaster, nor is it any of my business. But say you have a partner and kids, and a false rumour starts going around the parent circle of your kids hockey team that you had an affair on a road trip with one of the other parents, you wouldn't have issue with that? I think that could be fairly impactful beyond just a tough conversation between 4 adults.
I'd feel disgusted on yours, the other 3 adults and the children's behalf even if you didn't.

I mean people have hard conversations with their kids all the time. I get that the media circus/professional sport element is unique. But not sure why one situation is worth more empathy than the next.
It's like "damn homie that sucks" not sure why the giant moral outrage. It just reads to me like it's hella performative. But just my opinion. I'm not Blaster.

It’d have to be that a parent slept with a player on the team to be the same level of ridiculousness. Like your wife went to a university hockey tourney and banged one of the 4th year guys and then it got posted on twitter to kick off the rumour. I think pretty much everyone knows it isn’t true
Have to think the legal nuances of all of this have to be what’s keeping the balckhawks from just releasing/leaking what actually happened. Because them remaining so silent on it is not really doing them any favours right now… and especially not doing any favours to Bedard. Just saying “it’s not that” is obviously not enough… because now that the crazy rumour is out there, not giving the actual reasons for terminating the contract is just making people keep running with the rumour.
They must have to dot every i and cross every t in this droves before making a statement because the NHLPA will be after them for terminating a players’ contract.
I bet there’s clauses for activity and behaviour in team facilities. Their statement leans into that a little talking about professional and safe work environments.
I read that and I wondered if Perry organized a rookie hazing that went over the top.

That would entirely depend on the relationship with my significant other. Are we on the rocks? Is this something where she's going to legitimately believe it's true? What if we're swingers, or poly-amorous and it's true but there was consent?
People are going to talk. Some people are going to lie. If all they have to talk about is making up that I've been unfaithful on a hockey road trip for my kids, then they need a life. But I don't think I'd be disgusted with them. I'd pity them. I'd be perturbed and annoyed with busybodies not being adult enough to live their own life. But spreading rumours that I'd had consenting sex is not something I'd be disgusted by.

But what if they got the rumour going viral on the internet so every time someone googled your name the first thing that came up was that you slept with a player on your son’s team? Still don’t care?
1. Its a pretty lame rumour, but par for the course for typical fans (jockbros) of this sport we all follow and love. But, it ain't changing no matter how disgusted we might get. And it certainly ain't changing if people stop shrugging it off. "WELL IF ONLY PEOPLE ADMONISHED PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET MORE, WE COULD CHANGE THE WORLD". Fata off with that nonsense.
2. Even I think the jokes are lame, but not because they are offensive, just because they are old and done a thousand times before.
3. You announce big things and then leave a gaping hole in the story, people will fill that hole with guesses, and those guesses will likely be negative. It happens in the office, it happens everywhere. Its the way it is and the way it will always be.
Is there some magical world where fans only care what happens on the field, yet ultra-rich owners profit massively on the celebrity of these guys. Can't have it both ways, sorry. Those profits come at a cost. To the players and the organization. Humans be human.
4. Crappy situation with probably something not good coming from it.

At no point did I say I didn't care. I just don't view it as "disgusting." I think this is a stupid, ####ty situation and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. I think people need better hobbies. I also think people shouldn't worry about other people's sex life.
Ime Udoka was fired by the Celtics as well for having an affair with a staff member. He was suspended first and fired a bit later. It was also said he harassed her.
So it doesn't seem like something like this has never happened before.

You said it was absolutely hilarious.
Now you're changing your tune to say it's stupid and people should get a life.
You're right at this point; take your own advice and get a life.
