Yeah but what they've built isn't sustainable. No way they'll stay at that level and accomplish that.
I think what Conroy has built this season, I think that's sustainable. I think Connie has given us a real shot at getting it done this year. 1st or 2nd overall? It's right there for this group.

If they actually ship Lindholm and Hanifin out this team could bottom out totally. But they probably sign both to long term deals lol.

Part of me wants to see this thing burn.
So many seasons it's been neither here nor there. Just good enough to keep the same product and mentality going into the next season.
Let's hit rock bottom and see where that takes us.

I don't know who wouldn't want to see this burn. What's even worth saving?

Damn I hope Conroy is smarter than that.

The flames getting off to a terrible start is the second best outcome. Sure the best would have been a full bounce back to contender but the worst is the mucky middle (where they still may end up).
They should be planning to sell instead of sign. A retool is still possible.

Team just isn’t good enough. They work hard, I don’t question that. They just don’t have the talent.
I wonder if we could pull off something similar to what Dallas did with their bad Benn and Seguin contracts? Get a few high picks and turn the ship around in 3-4 years and have Huby and Kadri on our third line?
I think signing Hanifin wouldn’t be the best move, and I definitely have no appetite to re-sign Lindholm. I think the best move is to accept that you tried to ice a competitive roster, it didn’t work, and not look forward.

Flames need to help him figure it out, there is no other choice. Current players aren't working. Get some new ones, change the style, whatever

It is tough when the teams driving a lemon. We could make a thread on "How would you fix the Flames” and few would have any answers at this point.

I bet the offers are too low. Too many teams know they have the Flames over a barrel.

56% isn’t good enough. We don’t have the scoring talent to win enough of those games. Needs to be 70%.

Outrageous. The Oilers will rip this team a hole on the Heritage Classic.
Boo….

I wish Huberdeau looked even remotely capable of making high-level plays with the puck. It's insane how useless he is out there given his entire career up to this point.
If you told me that on a dare he switched to shooting left after spending his entire career up to the trade shooting right I would probably believe it...

Seems like it. Typically you would be happy with 55% against a solid playoff team from last year. But they don’t score or save at the expected rate.

Attendance listed at 16,800. Hope this continues to drop so ownership can see the apathy.

And nobody did anything about the Vesey hit? Didn’t see the game, but I don’t see any fighting majors on the box score….
