If you are going to call out teammates maybe do it like a man and in the dressing room or 1 on 1 and not through the media.
The team isn't even playing that bad, to come out on a gameday with these comments is dumb.
I’m confident the one on one has already taken place. If teammates are offended by what Z said in the media, then the assumption is it that individual or group he was referring too and should consider if their GAF is where it needs to be.
Seems like Zad loved Sutter as a coach. Disappointed more players didn't buy in, I really enjoy Sutter as a coach even if he did some questionable things. He still had the team playing a style of hockey that should have won many games despite low talent.
Sutter did what he always does, but it was a season that worked against him due to terrible goaltending, and terrible finishing from the roster. The latter is more so on the talent of the team itself, hence why his style was a good choice since offense wasn't getting generated. But even with that, if goaltending was just even at an average level, the team probably wins the division, and he would likely still be the coach.
He's gone now, but the problems with this roster still is prevalent. It's just disappointing that the Flames management/ownership just won't acknowledge the writing on the wall, and commit to a proper rebuild by off loading the players with value, expired contracts, and aren't long term assets. The best this roster could produce if things go well is a pretty low ceiling, such as winning a round in the playoffs. That seems to be investing a lot into very little return.
Why this organization is so apprehensive to future building is beyond me, and makes me considerably disinterested.
Markstom and Vladar would probably win in the AHL with 7 goal run support lol
I want Wolf in some games too but Vladar would most likely own the AHL too, I mean he did when he played there
Would Vladar own the AHL?
Vladar career AHL save percentage is .915. I also don't recall Vladar winning any AHL MVP or goalie of the year awards.
Wolf to this point has already played more AHL games than Vladar did in his career, and has a .927 career save percenatage and 2 Goalie of the Year awards.
It's time to give him some NHL games, even if it means a less than ideal return for Vladar.

the team he plays on is also a factor
like I said I want Wolf in games too but he would have lost both Flames games this weekend anyway. Now they are home they can sneak him in. I wouldn't play Vladar again before Wolf. Markstrom should be given all the upcoming games though.
I don't want Wolf playing in games where the Flames are tired on the road in a back to back and the other team hasn't played all week. It was smart to sacrifice Vladar on their longest trip of the season IMO.
Seems like a lot of overreaction only six games into a season with a new head coach. A little early for fans to be panicking and locker room dissention. It's going to be a long season if this is going to be the norm.

Calgary and Florida have virtually identical regular season records since the trade...looking at the east this year its not crazy to call the Panthers a bubble team as we crap on the Flames.
Lets say the Sens and Wings are in...whos out? Like the Panthers might have to play at a 102 pace from today out to sneak in.
I don't think the Sens make it, their defense looks atrocious still. And detroit looks better so far, but we'll see it's early.
But no, not an outrageous claim to make that they'll be a bubble team. It's hard to make the playoffs. But last year they had big changes like the Flames but also Maurice came in and totally changed the system. Plus all the injuries. So imo things would have implode for them to not make the playoffs but it's possible ofc.

They traded the Flames their 1st round pick and the Flames gave it away
the Panthers are gonna have a bad season lol

It’s because it looks like the exact same thing as last season. If Markstrom starts letting in weak goals on the first couple shots than it will be 100% deja vu
I’m not sure why you are cheering for the Panthers to suck lol. I hope they make the playoffs easy the next two seasons
They can win first overall this year
besides what does it matter now? if Montreal takes pick 16 from Florida what does that change for Calgary. Deal is done
next year could get crazy but I bet Montreal doesn't pass on the pick...GMs don't like to wait since it might not be their job if they wait too long.
Anyway its more what I think, Panthers are in tough...no knock on them specifically but those WildCards will be a lot tougher to secure in the east this season IMO

You are a year ahead on conditions. If the Panthers have a top ten pick this year then the Flyers get Florida’s 25 pick and the Flames get the 26 pick. The only pick Montreal can get this year is the Flames if it is between 20-32. A Florida bottom ten finish is about the worst it can be for the Flames.

Locker room dissention isn't being solely manufactured by fans in this case. Pretty telling comments by big Z.

Sanderson is the real deal. Along with Chabot and Chychrun that makes for a strong top-3 D. And it’s early going, but their GA/GP is lower than average so far.

Well it's largely the same team so I would expect some semblance to last season. They are learning a new defensive system and some growing pains should be expected. The main concern I have right now is that the poor shooting percentage has carried over as that's something that needs to change for this team to improve.
