It's not so much that our record is bad... It's more how we've lost the last two games.

I wish Coronato plays with Lindholm line. Coronato reminds me Tkachuk but with less power but same skills. And hope one of Mangi or Huber clicks with these 2.

What did we say about how changing the outcome of a couple of those 17 OT/SO losses last season could've got them into the playoffs? We're already siphoning those points away early.

That's the spirit.

It's Game 3. And the team is 1-1-1. Can't tell at all by this thread.

You are a pretty big reason that the GT threads stay bearable. It will get better the Flames just need to put together a few wins.

Yeah thats fair. Your right that huberdeau isn't coasting but he's just not performing at the level we need him to be and that we're paying him for.
It's a tough pill for me to swallow that we have this much cap tied up in underperformed players and I can't wait for this iteration of the flames to be over.
Hopefully something clicks in them .

This 100%. There were two players that we acquired this off season that fit the mold of players that have had huge success with Huberdeau; Sharangovich and Coronato.
Which one is one his line? Neither. Unbelievable.

Kadri is a mystery box. I don't know how he can be checked out and the year just started. Like what are you doing man.

I think the Flames need to go after players he can play with. They'll probably be thinking along these lines but they've got to start the season and see what they have. He can be a good player we just got to find him some support.

I wonder if Murray should have given more merit to the idea of keeping Sutter and letting the team implode.

Could you imagine this place if they were 0-3.
3/6 points with 79 games to go.
I'd like to think people were ready and willing to give this coaching staff more than three games before turning on them, but evidently not.

I'm with you and AC.
Three games into the season so far and it's like we up north and calling for people's heads.. I tend to avoid the PGT if the Flames lose.

He's a PPG on the season. Are style points really what we're after at the end of the day?
Poor guy. He can't just put up the offense. He has to *look* dominant doing it too to get people's blessings.

I guess it is you see what you want to see but I say the opposite about the game thread and the blind positivity in it.
If we can't make legitimate criticisms and bring up legitimate concerns about the team because "its only 3 games" what is the point in having a game thread? And why is always just the supposed negative comments that have to be disregarded because it's only 3 games?
When we are seeing so many of the same problems from last year, seeing the concerns many had coming into the season showing up early why wouldn't fans be worried? The team hasn't played good, hasn't played bad either but I think that is the concern this team looks entirely mediocre both overall and individually.
I think that this is going to be the case all season though because the team will do enough to still be "in it" if just getting into the play-offs is enough while also doing enough to show they aren't competing for the Cup so there is going to be a massive split all season long.

Crazy that people want their franchise player making $10.5m to drive play. Fans are way too entitled!

First Line Centre

The Flames have a meat and potatoes roster and are putting outeat and potatoes line combinations. Kadri and Huberdeau are dynamic players. They need to stack lines to find something like they did with Lindholm, Tkachuk and Gaudreau.
My preferred option is to combine Lindholm, Kadri, and Huberdeau. They look good when together. Besides, Kadri plays like a winger. Barring that put Kadri, Huberdeau, and Coronato together.
Either way, you get a sniper, passer, and crasher on a line that can play a dynamic game. Favor them with some offensive zone starts and let them get some chemistry.

Sure it is early but I see a good complimentary piece that needs a center like Barkov to put up the pts he did in Florida. Lindholm will never be that.
