Yeah....that defense is.....something.

Just blew a 29-0 lead, at home as 14 pt favorites, to a terrible 1 win Stanford team.
Just awesome.

I also remember when it was the worst program in college football, less than a year ago.

Super coach Deion making sure everyone knows the problem is the players not loving football as much as he does, not him being clueless when it comes to coaching or focusing on getting his son stats over winning games.

Whats your point?
Are they better than terrible? Sure. Good on em and on Deion for turning things around.
Im talking about the ridiculous hype after that 1st game and the insanity that followed though.
Seasoned football writers/broadcasters were tripping over themselves to declare them as the next coming of the 2001 Miami Hurricanes. Celebrities flying in for games, them getting voted as a top 20 team etc. It was getting obnoxious with all the coverage for what was and has proven to be a very middling at best FBS team, even if it wasn't their fault for most of it. No one was looking at them objectively however, even though the flaws were obvious.
As it stands today, i would not be surprised one iota if they dont even make a bowl game because they finish with a losing record. The PAC 12 is a gauntlet this year and they still have to play 4 ranked teams including 2 high octane offenses which they have simply been unable to stop this campaign.
I actually dont dislike the Buffs nor a lot of the "underdog" programs either, but this was next level absurdity.

Colorado is a field goal with 12 seconds remaining against 1-5 Arizona State away from being potentially winless in the Pac-12.
Colorado’s remaining schedule:
• No. 15 Oregon State
• at No. 16 Utah
• at No. 18 UCLA
• at No. 19 Wazzu
• Arizona, who just played Washington and USC within 9 combined points
The only game they have a chance to win remaining is Arizona.... maybe Utah if Cam Rising isn't back. They're trash. End of story.

Being voted as top 20 was premature doesn’t really bother me all that much. We could complain about all the voting misses from early in the season every year and beating TCU on the road was a nice win.
In general people were overhyping them and now they are being over hated IMO. It’s still a pretty great turnaround story but we have to listen all these I told you so’s after very loss. A bowl game would be a hell of an accomplishment in one year from where they were.

I'd also like to see these articles that were comparing them to the best college team ever. The media over-hyping something that helps the bottom line isn't surprising, like them or not Colorado provided a jolt to college football that we haven't seen in some time. But even for media overhype I seriously don't believe there were articles saying they were going to be 2001 Miami good.

They have a lot of recruiting on defence and the o line to do
This isn’t surprising for the first year to have a lot of holes . You also see their depth is really shallow compared to more established programs so as the season goes on and injuries hit they are less effective
No one was predicting or comparing them to a powerhouses team (this year)
It will take 3-5 years to completely build a proper competitive program.

Well no, it was hyperbole....thought that was evident.
But again the "jolt" was manufactured mostly because of how Sanders assembled the team, and not how good they are or arent.
As i said it was just reaching levels of absurdity. Not their fault even though Sanders can be a polarizing guy to many.
Anyhow.....holy smokes are there a lot of intriguing games today in every conference.
Should be fun.

Washington and Oregon is what I'm interested in today.I will miss the Pac12. It' doesn't have any great teams, but a deep group of good teams who can all beat each other any day. I prefer that to watching Georgia crush everyone and not play anything resembling a competitive game until the SEC title game.

Patrick Herbert’s roster photo looks like Justin in witness protection. Lol
Anyway; what an unreal, no-look throw by Bo Nix to Patrick Herbert for a touchdown.
