What's the last day teams can add players by? (And is Canada rumoured to be adding anyone?)

Dube has brought him up numerous times as a guy that has really taught him how to be a pro..

Canada vs Kazakhstan
Just got to Riga yesterday after a long day of traveling. We landed at 815 local time and the game started at 8, so by the time we got through customs and dropped off luggage, it was near the end of the second period before we got to the rink.
Canada won 5-1 and was easily the stronger team, however the Kazakhs mustered up some good attacks in the third and the crowd came alive a bit. The individual offensive skill of the Kazakh players is very high and comparable to NHL level, but the defensive intensity and details is where the Gulf between the teams is enormous.
Toffoli looks talented but wasn't used that much with the score being 5-1.
Lucic is always noticeable as he is just so strong and in on every puck.
Weegar was the best player on the ice. He shuts down so many plays and then moves the puck well. Looks like he is keeping up the improved play from down the stretch.
The most bizarre thing from the night was one fan who kept yelling out that Adam Fantilli sucks. I couldn't quite tell if he was a Canada fan or just a randomly critical person, but he really had it in for the prospect.
The arena is great and I am excited to visit the beer gardens on the weekend when it will be full and wild. The crowd was small last night, only 3,400 people and you could tell they gave away a lot of tickets to students. Slovakian fans are my favorite so far. They cheered for both teams during the game and were chanting and having a blast inside and outside of the arena.
So far, the Latvian people have been very friendly and welcoming. Many people speak at least some English, so it has been relatively easy to get around.
I'll be attending 4 more games over the next few days and let you guys know how it goes.

Looch is all class. I can't think of another fighter/goon who lets up as much as him at the end of fights.

Man this guy has figured out the meaning of happiness. Traveling to sweet European countries following your team in a tournament. Sounds awesome.

With Sutter gone I wouldn't mind Lucic coming back if he agrees that he is not a everyday player.

Awesome. Enjoy the games! What a cool trip

Nope. Great guy but the team badly needs youth and speed. He has neither.

Its possible if people still value his toughness. But he's almost too good of a fighter so there's like 2 or 3 guys in the league who can hang with him - MacDermid, Deslauriers and then some rando guy who tries to make a name for himself.

I probably missed it - but was there any word as to why Ruzicka is not playing for Slovakia?

Their team seems to have zero NHLers (and only 4 guys playing minors in NA).
They do have ex Flame Marek Hrivik.

Lawson Crouse is a pretty good player. Hadn’t heard of him before. He’d solid. Heavy game.

He was a pretty big deal at the 2016 WJC. He suffers from being a relatively poor performer in a big draft year. Right behind Rantanen and a few before Barzal and Connor. Rasmus was chosen in the second round, has about a season less experience, plays D and still has more points.

He should be Flames Captain IMO.
You can't ignore contract status when naming a captain, and he's got a long one.

Where or what area of Riga are you staying in? I booked for a flight to Riga a few weeks ago to try and catch a game, as it worked out to 190 bucks Canadian return. However, I found the accommodations limited in central Riga.

Probably a Columbus scout trying to convince Anaheim to pass at #2.
