If the Wild go 14-10 down the stretch (slightly below their current winning percentage for the season) assuming the Flames win the tiebreaker the Flames only need to go 15-7-1 to beat them and get that final playoff spot.

If you missed all the good the Flames did in this one, no wonder you're glass half empty
They ran out of gas after 40 ... really unfortunate they couldn't keep the third goal out and hang in
Just their luck this year. Nothing is easy
Yes they give up a lead. But the second of a back to back in Vegas is a tough test

Pretty different situation. Last night was game 1, against a weak opponent, and they were in total control.
tonight was against the division leaders, in a tie game, where they simply had to find a way to win it.

Gut-wrenching loss, which is actually rare for me (I really feel for a lot of you guys), but I'm not down on the team for tonight. Good game to watch; Vegas is very good.
Colorado is better, and Flames need two points there for sure.

That’s winning more than 2 out of 3.
This is the Flames we’re talking about.

I had a client thing so could not watch until early in the third.
Had the pleasure of seeing 3 goals against, a dog #### power play and a cat #### OT
Fun times.
edit: and to the “fans” who bet $ on the Flames to lose, FU.

Flashes of brilliance from the Flames but completely overshadowed by not getting the 2 points they desperately needed.

When was the last time a Flames goalie posted above a .900 save %?

Watched the game off and on (silently). For quite a bit of time I was wondering where this team was all year...they were playing excellent hockey. A couple of brain farts and kablooey....
Then they get the PP late in the game and spend most of the time playing pitch and catch between the blue line and the hash marks. Zip down low and nobody forcing the puck to the middle.
I love my Flames, but this team just sucks the energy right out of everything. Burn it down Brad.
Let's just start next year with nothing but rookies.

That is too bad, because the Flames were fantastic for the other 40 minutes.

Win, OT loss, then a loss. Is that the pattern? Too bad about tonight. Someday, they will figure it out. On to Colorado.

How is that only? (Unless I missed your sarcasm).
That's better than any winning percentage in the Western conference.
It's great to hope it happens but management absolutely cannot make decisions based on expecting that to happen.

Copied from the wolf thread.
Curtis Joseph was 5 ft 11. Top-10 in wins.
Chris Osgood won 2 rings as a starter and went to the finals a third time, and he’s top-15 all time in wins. He has more wins than Hasek.
Enough of this notion that a 6 foot tall goalie can’t dominate the NHL. It’s completely made up.
.930 is .930, and it’s in the building. .930 solves all your problems. This team has allowed the 2nd fewest shots in the league and they’re 15th in goals against.
It’s the #### goaltending. Watch Huberdeau get light years better when he’s not waiting for the guy in net to blow the game.

The curse parasite snuck on the plane from Anaheim to Vegas apparently
Honestly what a joke. Vegas got so fortunate to pry that win from the Flames after getting smothered for much of it
BS
Should've been snapped right then and there

Sutter hangs it on Vladdy pretty hard.

He certainly treats his two goalies very differently in the media.

I mean, these guys are supposed to be pros. Do they not understand math in relation to scoring chances? Has it never been brought up by the coaches?
A 1 on 3 rush is something you do short handed to kill time because you’re not going to score unless your name is Connor. All you’re doing is giving back possession if you do it in OT.
Backlund created a great turnover through an hard back check and should have immediately sent it to his dman and changed. Lindholm, Andersson and Kadri (or Pelletier) come over the boards because Vegas is now stuck on D.
You look for every edge. It’s the NHL. At this point it’s just poor coaching because we’ve been seeing it all effin year and I’m pretty sick of it.
