Belgian-born but Montreal-based Apashe released a new song this week. I don't even know what to classify his music as, concerto-trap? Classical-house? Whatever it is, its straight bangers.
And if you'll allow me to fanboy-out for a minute; Apashe has travelled all over the world and has this amazing ability to distill each cultures music into its essence, while layering over his own influence and beats. It's just so awesome I just want to share it with everyone lol
Russia
Ukraine
Japan
India
Oh and one Star Wars inspired song with a video that defies easy explanation.

Can we cut the bull#### that he's a conservative party plant? Grow up. He's an artist, and sometimes they say some stuff that's political. It doesn't mean he's got a purely conservative agenda. Cut to 2:10 for the good stuff.
If you hear him fully, he's actually pretty smart.

It's a very unique situation that played out. I live in Richmond, and from what I could tell it all started somewhat organically and got hijacked by the far right. I didn't hear it mentioned in the video but I saw a quote that the fudge round comment was about parents spending their EBT money on snacks and sending their kids to school hungry. That's a huge difference from the initial interpretation of blaming fat, poor people for his tax bill.
Both the right and left have embarrassed themselves on this whole thing, and it's somewhat cool to see him so self aware of the very odd spot he's found himself in.

Well I know I've said before that I've kind of lost the enjoyment of music as I get older but goddamn...
Kieza just played Olympia Plaza to a crowd of dozens on a Wednesday night and hardly anybody knew it. You could just walk through the park and stroll up to front row. She just recovered from a terrible accident and had to re-learn how to use her body and move through re-training and physio therapy.
She tried to get a 403! 403! chant going and her pipes were probably the best I've ever heard in my life in live music. Next to Prince and Chromeo, this is probably the best live show I've ever been to because it was so surreal. She played new songs as well that nobody's ever heard of before. I didn't realize how much I love early 90s dance music.

I have no idea why they chose a Wednesday night for that free show.
Studio work in 2021 yielded several completed songs[7] and further recordings in late 2022 and early 2023 with producer Andrew Watt included Paul McCartney playing bass guitar on new Stones music.[8] In June 2023, former bassist Bill Wyman announced that he had recorded for the band for the first time in 30 years.[9][6] Additional recordings with Elton John are expected to be on the release.[4] These recordings include 2019 sessions that have the last work by Charlie Watts and the band's first with drummer Steve Jordan.
Semisonic have a new album coming out, their first in 22 years, and the first single was co-written by Lori McKenna and features Jason Isbell on guitar.
