Ducks are somewhat big but they're terrible. So awful. Think they're a pretty good team for Phillips to play against.

I thought there were a lot of positives tonight and it seems like they are starting to get it. Huberdeau is on a roll which is awesome, because this teams is going to pretty much go how he goes.

I just wish the team could play with the same tenacity for the whole game that they showed after going down 3-1. It's frustrating that you know they can do it, they just don't.

Huberdeau is awesome, I love the way he moves the puck. But really we need a top flight Huberdeau, which he is turning into..with excellent defensive metrics that he never used to have, (which makes his season on a new team even more impressive) PLUS another top 6 forward addition to become a threat in the West.

I will say this…I’ve been disappointed with Huberdeau for most of the season but today he looked good, was out there flying with the puck trying to make plays! I’ll take that all day over floating around without the puck. Unlucky in OT (and yes he needed to shoot) but I liked what I saw from him tonight.

This thread is a wild scene

Aside from the Huberdeau stuff (fun fact: he had 100% of the Flames shots on goal in the first 17 minutes) …

Boy, quite the contrast from the previous night’s game. The Sharks definitely aren’t in the same league as the Kings in terms of team defense.

Thought the Kings did a great job of containing the Flames overall tonight minus the Backlund line who were easily the team’s best line of the game. I thought they were the only trio who could consistently penetrate the Kings’ structure.

Obviously, the Flames should be disappointed they gave up points to a team they’re trying to catch. But I guess on bright-side, the team got a point coming back 3-1 against a tough team.

But at some point, this team will need to figure out how to win in OT based on how many close games they play in. A point here or there could ultimately make a big difference in the final playoff picture.

They should probably have 3-5 more points from all of those OT losses. All of the dumb penalties. Probably should have won last night ect.

Those 3-5 points are going to be super important at the end of this season. Everything is so tight.

Has anyone seen Mang all season? I'm worried he might be lost in the woods somewhere.

I’m not sure if this is a tracked stat, but this team must be the far and away leaders in goals surrendered in the first 5 shots of a game, or given up in the first minute of a period, or also in getting scored on multiple times in a 30 second timeframe.

I don’t know what it is, but they get caught unready in a lot of situations like this. The giving up multiple goals thing drives me batty.

It’s likely just my perception, and not actually a thing, but it seems like these thing happen on far too frequent a basis. 10 seconds apart again tonight!

Can't have a bad draft if you don't have any draft picks, right?

It’s great to see Huberdeau and Dube really rounding out their games in the last month. I’d say the same for our goaltending.

If Mangiapane could recapture his scoring touch it would make a huge difference. He’s getting shots. But not a lot of goals.

I think everyone is starting to contribute and they’re starting to see results.

If we’re in the playoff picture come trade deadline I still think the Flames should go after a rental triggerman. Lucic Huberdeau Kadri is looking not bad. But it would be nice to bump Lucic down in the lineup a bit.

After watching Big Z and Stone for a few games we could also use a reliable 6th dman. Stone is struggling with more ice time. They aren’t the best together. It would be nice if one of the young guys could step up. But I have a feeling it won’t be this year.

Not sure about goals against, but related is that there was a graphic last night saying that the Flames have the second most goals FOR in the league at the start of periods. I can’t remember the time period but I think within the first few minutes of a period.

I think he's a legit 25-30 goal scorer. He just needs to get back to continually being in the dirty areas to start scoring again.
