Not a bad period, Markstrom made some pretty good saves. Didn’t mind Gilbert. Having a fourth liner on every line is really not ideal.

Thought the Flames played well that period. Keep it up and they’ll be fine. Tampa is a good team.

Looking good against a dangerous opponent, zero passengers, they're here to compete and win.

Pretty blah first period. Not much happening offensively.

For the Markstom hater comment the high danger chances were 8-1 Tampa

although those numbers seem a little off to me he made some pretty big saves and the goal against was nearly unstoppable

Vasi allowed a Lucic shot in the net from 20 feet out and was saved by it being a cm offside

Thought we looked pretty good.
Sucks that Kadri was offside, as that gave Tampa a little momentum.

I liked the colour guy, offered some insight. Hrudey has great chemistry with Ball but definitely doesn’t bring the same level of analysis

I mentioned it before in another GT. I like his analysis.

He was screened.

Of course the numbers are off because the Flames aren't up in them. That's what happens when you have Lewis and Lucic playing out of place.

Ah crap I forgot about Corey 'everyone has to say his whole name' Perry, I wanted him in our bottom six, he's not so I'm back to hating him on the other team.

The team definitely has to figure out a way to get more quality chances. Definitely an uphill battle given the number of unskilled forwards peppered on every line.

Flames getting more chances so far this period, but could still use more sustained pressure in the Tampa end.

Look how far out Vasilevsky was - that is what Markstrom isn't doing this year

Flames look awful in the second. Worse than their already underwhelming first period.

Well tough to generate offense when Lewis and Lucic are your top playing forwards at 5v5.

Honestly Sutter should be fired if he’s going to play favourites and play those too so much.

Lewis playing 3 minutes more than Lindholm, and 4 minutes more than Toffoli and Coleman through 25 minutes is almost instant firing grounds.

Feels like they've spent almost the entire period in their own zone but somehow they're leading the chances 3–0. Still looks like they're playing sleepy, sleepy hockey.

Their first period was awful, though.
