I will bet that the audio was lower after warm up. I have a feeling the players ask for it to be loud during warm ups.

If only Calgary was home to a world class manufacturer of world class public address loudspeakers, cabinets, software, control systems and front of house hardware, none of this would be an issue.
Oh and all of that despite the fact it would add jobs to Calgary. . .

I went to the Buffalo game. Beesley was screaming after every second stoppage. Why do we need to be shouted at? Why do we need hype-men, loud classic rock and a new audio-visual stimulation every 30 seconds?
I miss the atmosphere in the Corral in the 70s - if it was loud it was because the game was exciting. No stimulation required.
No goal songs. You could hear hecklers. Sometimes an organ. It was more than enough.

Beasley needs to be like the guys at monster truck rally’s to create the sense of urgency.
A reverb machine would help whip up the locals

You can do it lads! Strongly worded letters is the trick

Your support is true benevolence, to be sure. We could also take an under 35 approach and start a flash-mob to get the point across. Mind you, we’d all have to stop our on-going flash-mobbing of Shoppers Drug Marts and (puke) Rexalls, but a strongly-worded letter to the membership should work.
On the negative side, I can only imagine all of the broken wrists and pants with holes in the knees that will need to be replaced.
This is a difficult choice indeed.

It’s just it all sounds the same. All rave dance music. It’s the same crap we’ve had for years. The team has a new identity this year. They should freshen up the production somehow.
Same thing with the goal song. Shot down In Flames should be remembered as the goal song for the Johnny, Monny and Chucky era. With the core on the team changing this year we should’ve transitioned in game production too or are we going to wait 10 years for a new building to do that?
|
Couldn’t agree more, have to think the crappy music they play doesn’t do much getting the players motivated either. The goal song is terrible as well.

Not that old… the music is a little on the loud side. Doesn’t help that our seats are directly in line with the hanging blue line speakers.

Shot down in Flames hasn't been the goal song in years lol...I wish they would bring it back personally

I’ve been screaming from the hilltops to get PK sound design at our new stadium. Such an opportunity for us!

I definitely think the rep of the Dome being quiet has a lot to do with how constantly bombarded we are with noise. It’s impossible to fight it, so people just clam up.
They even try to pile noise on top of organically occurring crowd chants, which often causes people to stop chanting.
Totally agree that it’d be different if they just turned things off every so often…

I just don’t see why a hockey game has to be a short-attention span noise festival.

just a friendly jab . the last line felt right off of a Morgan Freeman script and i couldnt help myself. haha you probably partake in more young people activities than I
I'll have to see how loud it is when I go . I get sensory overload easily but don't recall having a big issue with it last season . I personally love a good pump up song for the powerplay and love when the team intro rocks the building . it does get you into it . I'm not a fan of the mc guy and girl that yell during the commercials . that's worse than the music
I think with all the noise there is less honus on the crowd to make its own noise and it has been a library during the play to start the year which sucks . I only recall one prolonged chant in 3 games!

Beesley? Um not a chance. I was there as well and I believe your confused with that red head dude who gives away prizes. The only time Bees raises his voice is when a goal is scored. He’s the public address announcer not the promo dude. And ya, I hate that guy screaming.
(Don’t know that guys name and really don’t want to)
