Yeah that’s all in if I’ve ever seen it. Gotta think that maybe they floated that package to Regina for Bedard and when they were told no just figured “get the next best guy”.

Ottawa 67's pick up D Pavel Mintukov from Saginaw, sending 9 draft picks to the Spirit. That move came 3 days after the 67's aquired F Logan Morrison from the Hamilton Bulldogs for 6 picks. Mintukov in one of the best D-men in the entire CHL, so that's a huge move for a team that's already 1st overall. Morrison and Mintyukov are second and third in the OHL scoring race, with 58 and 54 points respectively.
Winnipeg aquired F Zack Ostapchuk from Vancouver for F Skyler Bruce, F Connor Dale, prospects Owen Brees and Hudson Landmark, and 4 draft picks. Ostapchuk was part of Team Canada in the most recent WJC.

4th place Sarnia got WJC D Ethan Del Mastro, and CBJ prospect F Luca Del Bel Belluz from Mississauga.
Barrie Colts had WJC D Brandt Clarke returned to them by the LA Kings, and they traded for Florida prospect, D Braden Hache from Kingston for 5 picks.
3rd place Peterborough traded for Montreal prospect F Owen Beck from the Steelheads. They also aquired Dallas prospect, D Gavin White, and F Avery Hayes from Hamilton.
The West-leading Seattle Thunderbirds had Winnipeg first-rounder F Brad Lambert returned to them, after he was done playing for Finland at the WJC. They also aquired F Colton Dach and a 5th-rounder in 2024 from Kelowna, for LW Ty Hurley, D Ethan Mittelsteadt, 2024 1st, conditional 2025 2nd, and a conditional 2023 4th. Seattle is downright scary.
Seattle's rivals, the Portland Winterhawks, also got help from the Jets- who sent first-round pick F Chaz Lucius down to them.
Saskatoon, third in the East, landed Oilers prospect F Jake Chiasson, from Brandon.
Sherbrooke, who are tied for 1st in the Q's Western Conference, get WJC silver-medallist, and VGK prospect F Jakub Brabenec from Charlottetown, for a player and 5 picks.
The Gatineau Olympiques, who are just 2 points out of first in the West, aquired Montreal prospect F Riley Kidney from Acadie-bathurst, for 2 players and a first.

I wonder how old the future 2025 picks even are right now. 12? Grade 6/7?
Pretty crazy if you think about it.

Bell at 18 goals in 37 games. Last season he had 18 goals in 64 games. Big step up for him.

Scoring Winger
|
That goal scored by Bell last night was an end to end goal, he showed some amazing speed. His stick handling was a bit spotty which tells me he isn’t fully used to his speed. Get this kid training with some Flames coaches, and get aboard the hype train. He is fast but skating technique could improve to be stronger on his feet. He looks like he has all the tools to be one of the late bloomers

Beck was all zeros, other than 2 shots, in a 4-1 victory over Barrie. 17gp/4g/15a/19pts,+14, 4 PIM. He only has 1 point in his last 4 games. Ottawa (37-7-1-1) is still the class of the OHL.
Mooseheads beat Shawinigan, 6-3. Whynot gets 1a,-1. 37gp/3g/18a/21pts,+8, 16 PIM. He has quietly put up 8 points in the last 7 games, and sits in a 4-way tie for 21st in D scoring.

Beck with no points again,-1 in a 4-2 loss to Kitchener. 18gp/4g/15a/19pts,+13, 6 PIM. Only 1 point in his last 5.
Whynot with 1a,+3 in a 8-1 win over Saint John. 38gp/3g/19a/22pts,+11, 16 PIM. 9 points in his last 8 games.
Huckins was all zeros in a 3-1 win over Victoriaville. 41gp/15g/20a/35pts,+12, 53 PIM.
Bell was first star in a 8-2 win over Kamloops, with 3g and +2. 38gp/21g/28a/49pts,+9, 45 PIM. Tied for 21st in scoring.
Ciona was all zeros in a 3-2 OT win over Lethbridge. 37gp/18g/32a/50pts,+32, 55 PIM. Clearly, those who said some of the shine would wear off of Ciona after his teammates returned from the WJC were correct. Still having a great season though, tied for 19th in scoring, and 3rd in plus/minus.

Ciona had 16 points in 5 games right around the juniors and no points in 4 games since. Definitely a disappointment since likely his minutes got cut after the other players got back.

Yup, that's clearly the case. First star of tonight's game was WJC returnee LW Reid Schafer, with 2g (including the game-winner on a penalty shot). He only has 5 pts in 6 games though, since returning. I think Ciona might also be nursing an injury, as he missed a few games lately.

That would explain the games he missed on the 13th and 14th. Thanks for the info!
