Anyone thinking these kids weren't busting their butts is kidding themselves.

They're from 100 different places, they have no cohesion or chemistry.

Also, it looked to me like the ice was really bad in the second-half of both games. For long stretches it seemed like the puck just bounced around between players on both teams.

I agree. Compared to Canucks and Oilers, they didn't even show up. After reading all the raves, disappointing.

I don't know. I just tend to think that the coaches look at these games much differently than we do, and they also don't mean the same things to each individual player.

Also, specific players may have been asked to focus on specific things. These games aren't about Ws.

And as Bingo said, the D weren't good at transitioning the puck. You show me a poor transition game, and I'll show you forwards who look invisible.

I agree with Enoch Root and Textcritic, but it would still be nice to have seen Pelletier distance himself from the group.

I wonder if he is avoiding getting hurt and therefore not going to hard areas of the ice. Would be brutal for him to get injured in penticton

Not a chance. He is not a blue chip prospect . This guy has to give it every time he puts on a flames jersey , no matter how meaningless the game is, to increase his odds of making flames roster.

Do you think Pelletier has hurt his chances after the last two days of making the Flames roster? I actually think that this tournament has virtually nothing to do with how the NHL coaches are evaluating the players. He would have to do something either mind-blowingly spectacular or mind-numbingly stupid for it to matter.

Yeah, how he plays with the big boys is what will determine where he starts the season

I agree this tourney isn't going to hurt a player's chances of making the big club, but I think it's a leap to say that a player who goes out and shows that he's ahead of everyone by a vast margin doesn't put him in focus in a good way for the main camp.

Some of these boys are trying to play for Wranglers jobs and avoiding the ticket to Rapid City.

I was kinda disappointed after 2 games, and have been thinking about them today, and I'm beginning to agree that's what Pelletier is doing, just try not to get injured.

For a player like Pelletier, I actually don't think it matters at all. He has been in the organization for a few years now, and the coaches know exactly what he is all about.
