Tbe third period was awful, but I thought Zary and Wolf both had really good games.

Yeah wasn't too impressed with Schwindt...
Positives looked like Wolf, Klapka, Zary...
Pelletier was okay but expected more..

Weren't some posters mocking how bad the Canucks roster is compared to the Flames? Whoops.

Uh, it's basically a prospect scrimmage. This is how they always look.

It would be fairly insane to worry about anything in this tournament given that none of the players for either team are likely to see a game in the NHL this year.
My earlier comment stands, Zary good, Karlsson good, both goalies good, no one else particularly good.

Technically, I think they've only had one practice so far...

Yeah, I just didn't know how to word it. I meant it more in a way that the game was a let down for me, but more of a who cares move on feeling.

it's funny that it turned out this way tonight, but ultimately one game can go any which way and the Canucks' prospect pool is still really, really underwhelming

Where was Wolf on that third goal, that's unacceptable.

The ice was not good. Puck was bouncing all over and players were falling down quite a bit. Ah well, I honestly don’t take these small sample size exhibition games all that seriously

It's not even that funny. Seemed like a bunch of the Canucks roster are 22 year old AHL players who will never be full time NHLers - in fact many of them won't get there at all - but they play like pros, not juniors. Being a 20 year old with a high ceiling doesn't necessarily win games. There's a reason young skilled kids don't get handed ice time in the AHL.

Its the first game but still disappointed none of the flames bigger names couldn't show more. The no stars vs the young stars and they still get outplayed is disappointing.

Looked like a couple of second division teams tonight. Or two teams whose first and second lines were suspended.
Hopefully tomorrow's game is a bit more inspiring.

Powerplay Quarterback

My takeaways:
Schwindt looks bigger than I thought he would, pretty meh performance though
Zary looked really good, showed flashes of why I previously had him above Pelletier in terms of potential
Wolf does look small compared with most NHL but so smooth going side to side and just looks so in control
Klapka really noticeable
Poirier is as advertised? Looked so smooth and comfortable transitioning/offense and then gets walked while defending
Pettersen was up and down for me, creative at times but then felt he hung onto the puck a bit too long at others, noticeable though
Everyone else seemed to just blend into each other
Hockey's back though! Let's go~
