When you have Glen "Riders Homer" Suitor in there, that's what will happen.

On offence I think it gives you more options as you have more field to work with. You may know this already but if the ball carrier is tackled outside the hash marks, they start the next play on the hash marks. With the old the hash marks that were wider, the throw to the far sideline was so far that the wide receiver on that side is almost always just a decoy. So by keeping the ball closer to the middle of the field, you have more options on both sides, and can be a little more balanced in your attack.
Field goals are also easier as well since they are closer to the middle of the field.

It's a relatively minor thing, but was nice to see the running backs and receivers much more sure-handed on those short passes in the flat (granted it's only one game). The last few seasons its seemed like there's always at least a couple bobbles on those where their eyes and feet and are moving ahead of their hands. I don't thing Carey, Mills or even Hunchack dropped a single catcheable ball, and even snagged a couple really difficult ones from Bo.

I like the change, it’s a wide field. There will definitely be more scoring.

Also, teams that had a field goal scored on them take the ball at the 40.

Fairly well played game overall, seems like a good improvement so far compared to last year.
Crowd sucked but playing Montreal on a Thursday night is always a tough draw. I think one thing they should do is loosen up the tailgating rules. Back in the 2000s there was a pretty fun vibe in the parking lot. Tons of people drinking pints and BBQing, kids playing catch on the grass practice field. Then one year it seemed like the Stamps and CPS cracked down on all of the above, including not letting anyone play on the practice field.

I liked that it was even on TV, instead of the same tennis match taking up TSN 1-25.

When were the penalty flags changed to yellow? And why? Next thing you know we'll switch around the officials' hat colours! Is nothing sacred?
Aw hell... They did that too???

For that to happen Mitchell's going to have to be a lot better as he looked just as bad as he did last season. You could see frustration from the receivers as his accuracy has never been a strength but now it's a big problem. It looks like the offense is more in sync when Maier is under center. I know Dickenson will give Bo a lot of rope but it really does look like he maybe the Sean Monahan of the CFL where his career just ends early due to injuries.

The hashmark changes certainly creates a nightmare for defensive coordinators. as the throw to the field side automatically becomes shorter, and the boundry side becomes longer.
Usually your boundary corner is a physical jammer that can throw off routes and shut down Y receivers. At the same time with that throw to the field side being shorter and quicker, its going to mess up the field side secondary especially in zone packages. Suddenly your Z receiver can come back into the game plan, because unless you had a super gun QB those deep sideline routes were low percentage.

That was one year in 2009 when Ackles's son became Stamps president and somehow thought that was something that was to be suppressed. The rules are fairly unfettered now as long as you drink out of red cups. The cops just ride by on their bikes and don't bother getting involved unless there's a justifiable disturbance. I tailgate every game and have tailgated every game going back to the early to mid 2000s.
