You know Sutter will try to spin the Flames like they are underdogs. Giving high praise to the Oilers.

I see the Flames winning in 5. I have a hard time seeing Edmonton besting Calgary 5-on-5 for more than a third of the time.

The Oilers will be relying heavily on their powerplay and will be looking to draw a lot of penalties. Kassian, Kane and Nurse will be up to their antics and trying to sucker the Flames into special teams. Hopefully Calgary learned from the first three games of the Dallas series that they need 5 on 5 to find their rhythm.

I see the Flames sweeping the first two games at home, with higher scoring affairs than what we've been used to but a but more confidence from the players recently off the snide.

Edmonton will win their first at home, perhaps convincingly but will lose a heartbreaker maybe in OT in game 4.

Down 3-1 and coming back to Calgary, a tired and bruised Oilers team just can't muster enough to beat the Flames in the C of Red.

Oh and let me add that the Flames and Oilers are currently tied at 2 for all-time playoff wins at Rogers Place.

That’s why we have Lucic.

He might have two shutouts but Skinner could have played game 7 and probably would have got a shutout. LA blew it and I can think of maybe one good scoring chance that Smith had to make a good save. Everything else was a save an NHL goalie should make.

I can't recall a series for the Flames that started game one with as much hate as this one will. The last two against the Canucks were strong rivalries, but this series with Edmonton feels like it will be even more intense. Glad the Flames have Sutter to keep them grounded.

Good tandem, and neutral which I can live with.

Every team remaining had at least 109 points, except the Oilers, who only had 104 points. I guess it's actually the easiest matchup.

I'm worried about Tanev and his ribs maybe? Seemed like he was injured on a football style compression. That might suck.. but I could also see him playing somewhat soon

Flames have to stick to their game and not get into a track meet with the pond hockey team. That and the reffing are my only concerns. We play structured team game and don't get beat by the officials and we win this series.

He'll have plenty of fuel for this as the oiler loving Canadian media will be spewing out the pro-oiler crap at a rate we've never seen before.

Because Ticketmaster might be the only other organization as no good as the oilers.

Playing a relatively structured game, with much less talent, LA took the Oilers to seven games. Now the Oilers need to face a team that can play with great structure as well as great talent and offensive abilities and great goaltending. Playing the Flames will not be like playing the Kings. This series will be an intense one.

Dallas was incredibly scuzzy trying to draw penalties.

Refs put away their whistles in game 7.

I'm sure someone has stats for this but after round 1 I find the refs call way fewer penalties.

The non Call on Zadorov getting tripped on a breakaway would've turned into a central point for a riot if the game went the other way
