Yeah, not really. He has 30 in 60 games this year. That's a bit step up. 12 more goals in 4 more games.

I think part of it was his early hot streak, but he's clearly taken the next step in his development as a scoring winger.

I'm not mad about it, I'm just saying it's genuinely surprising.

Flames just need to be smart with the puck...they will own the Devils on the offensive zone. Kylington blew it on that goal.

The only one that blew it on that goal was Markstrom.

If it was Hanifin back, Hughes would have just blown by him and got a breakaway anyways.

Kylington lost the puck. Monahan went to help on the boards but was just a hair too late to stop the pass (made a hit though). Mangiapane late on the backcheck. Toffoli with a bit of a screen. I thought Mercer shot off the heel a bit which I think surprised Markstrom. Not a typical release point.

Kylington had full possession of the puck, 4 feet inside the blue line, and gave it away.

Try to watch a little closer.

I do agree that Kylington probably could have been stronger on the puck on the boards there to get it out. First game back from time off, he'll be better.

Probably should have flipped it out, but hindsight.

Kylington won a race against Bratt and forced the puck to the boards for a 50/50. I would hardly call that "full possession"

Of all NHL active sixth-round picks only one has more points and is younger than Mangiapane.
Devils’ Jesper Bratt

It was an excellent shot from a high danger area...not a "soft" goal by any stretch.
