Is he going to bump anyone off the 2nd powerplay unit?

He’s going to need a pay increase next year but I do it even if he ends up signing elsewhere.

Very interested to see who Jarnkrok bumps out of the starting lineup. I hope it isn't Dube.

This is what going all in looks like.

On one hand, hard to say you love giving up 3 picks for an expiring Jarnkrok.

But this is the closest the Flames have looked in 17 years, and probably the best situation they will see for a while.

When the goal is to win and people are calling you a favourite, you have to win the bidding war to get the pieces you want to shore up your team.

I don't think they would realistically be able to fetch any other available centers that were better because of their cap hits.

This might be the first time I cam ever remember where the two players I wanted the most and were realistically available, the Flames actually went out and got them!

Yeah!

Sutter's 2022 version of the versatile Marcus Nilson who he picked up near the deadline.

Similar role where could play up and down lineup, stats, sneaky skill, dependable, though Nilson was younger.

Nilson was as integral as part of "The Shift" as Iginla was.

And inches from winning the Cup in OT Game 6 vs Tampa.

Excellent pickup.

Well, for the first trade deadline in Tre's tenure, he's definitely going all in this year for the cup.

According to Dom Luszczyszyn of The Athletic, Jarnkrok has an overall Game Score Value Added of 1.0. According to this metric, Jarnkrok is now the Flames’ 8th best player, ahead of Monahan (0.3), Lucic (0.3), Dube (0.3), Lewis (-0.2) and Richardson (-0.3). He does not have Ruzicka ranked.

Gaudreau - Lindholm - Tkachuk
Mangiapane - Backlund - Coleman
Dube - Jarnkrok - Toffoli
Lucic - Monahan - Ruzicka
- Richardson - Lewis
