It honestly boggles my mind that 7 years into McDavid's career fans are happy with a "good try" when the team isn't even in a playoff spot. This is it, this is the Oilers window...with the cap this is the best roster they will ever have.

The only different thing is they've had a couple good games from their goalies, so it's parade time.

At this time of year the Oilers are fighting for their playoff lives, and teams like Carolina/Tampa/Florida are just out there chugging along and not living/dying with each win or loss.

I expect the Oilers will fall out of the running in about 15 games, after they have truly run McDrai into the ground....unless Derek Ryan keeps putting up hat tricks.

Wheeler and Connor both score two minutes apart, Jets take the lead 4-3 midway through the third period.

I love the smell of an Oilers loss in the morning.

Saw on Twitter that Crosby scored his 1375th point. Now top 25 in NHL history

Canucks up 4-0 on the Rangers. I think Vancouver has a better shot at making the playoffs than Edmonton does.

My most hated teams are Edmonton, Vancouver, and Vegas

Looks like 2 will miss the playoffs! What a time to be alive

Outside chance the Ducks get their #### together and all 3 miss

Miller with 2 assists against a team that wants him back apparently, his price is increasing by the night

Vancouver has a better chance of having success in the playoffs than the Coilers. Edmonton just isn’t built for playoffs, weak goaltending, weaker defense and a couple skilled princesses that fold when play gets physical

Vancouver is still pretty unlikely they are behind and have played more games. It's a win win though...even if they don't take out the Oilers they are making their draft position worse.

The Oilers have one game and three points in hand and have spent the last month in free fall with no goaltending or defence to speak of and an overworked first line that looks, surprise surprise, really worn down.

The Islanders lead 2-0 over the Ducks early
in the third period. Sororkin is working on the shutout.

Dzingel just scored, 1-0 Sharks.

The Canucks have an okay team but they have some major flaws in their team buildup. Their defense is below average and they are often bailed out by their Vezina trophy level goaltender. They have some good pieces up front but they still lack depth with a weak middle six. They have managed to dig themselves out of a hole but that hole was so deep I doubt that they can do it.

I hate the Oilers as much as the next guy...probably more

Oilers are 6-4 in their last 10
Vancouver is 7-3

Canucks have made up 2 points over 10 games going 7-3

Three points and a game in hand is quite a bit, and even then the Oilers aren't a playoff team either they are even further behind actual playoff teams

I am really struggling to decide which two teams I want to miss

Edmonton and Vegas/Vancouver

Edmonton/Vegas missing would probably by my pick...cap circumvention blowing up in Vegas's face would be too awesome, also Vancouver would be a much easier out than 95M payroll Vegas with rested stars.

I don't think either of them are a playoff team I just think over the next 20 games the Nucks will continue to play slightly over 500 hockey and the Oilers will crash

The Sharks are playing hang on with a 2-1 lead since the second period. Reimer is playing well in net and has faced nearly forty shots. The Sharks have lost to the Kraken twice already and only have three wins against Pacific Division teams.

Good news, the Islanders beat the Ducks 4-0.

Gadjovich scores a disputed goal that was reviewed, 3-1 Sharks.
