We're 2nd in the Pacific in winning percentage--we have 7 games in hand on Anaheim. Fact is, the Oilers still suck, but tonight helps pump the narrative that Edmonton's "solution is in the room" so Holland can justify not doing anything and that's good for us and everyone who hates the Oilers.
Yeah, it sucks, but we're going to be fine--a run of home games will get things back on track and we'll see the Markstrom we're used to.

Ugh. I wanted this win SOOOO badly tonight. Very disappointed. Flames are in the same realm as the oilers. Just a highly average team when it's all said and done.

Yeah, when Tanev gets walked like an AHL’er on the game winning goal, I’m not sure I agree with criticizing Kylington.

On the other hand the Oilers only get up to play the Flames, and it took the performance of Koskinens career just to eke it out.
Flames had two 10 bellers that would've made it 3-0 early but neither went.
Lick your wounds and learn from it.

The Oilers always manage to get inside the heads of Flames players. You could feel the tide in the game changing when the Oilers got the 2 PP goals. We gave them life when they had none and the result.
I'm always nervous when we play the Oilers. Even if they have depleted lineup.

Maybe Koskinen was told he would be traded if he had a good game.
It seemed pretty obvious with the 24/7 coverage of the Greasers this week, there would be a special incentive to make sure their losing streak would end. I freaking hate the embellishment. And the refs rewarding it. But all you can do is laugh. That is what this league is now.

They did score on the power play. Lucic’s goal.

Kosk made a bunch of saves where he didn't even know where the puck was...even the Dube save was going in after the scramble but the Dman pulled it off the line

This team needs one or two more scorers. Top 6 guys that can put the game away when the game's on the line. We work hard enough as a team, and working hard is important, but so is skill.
Complain about the interference call if you want. Draisaitl had one good chance the whole game and got his team the W. No one on our team could.

We didn't play down I would say, but we had brain farts at key moments and succumbed to the momentum they got from going 2/2 instead of just jumping right back on the horse.
And about those PP goals - since when did we collapse that much on the PK to allow those seeing eye shots?? Definitely playing it differently vs the oil for possibly mental reasons.
You just cannot give them that much respect & space out there. I don't know why we make exceptions for that crummy ass team.

Kylington was brilliant tonight. Don't understand how it is not being talked about.

Could be worse. They could have lost to the Oilers.

I’m concerned less about the Oilers and more about the Flames. We need a couple of more players to start stepping up with game breaking plays. Outshooting the opposition is not a guarantee of victory.

Dang it Surly Rancher man. Maybe he wanted them to learn the hard way and just looked the other way lol.

He does have his own coaching style. I like it.

It's not mental reasons they were obviously trying to take away Drai and McDavid and taking their chances with the Oilers other shooters. Seems like a good plan at the time
