The patience Mony showed on the second goal makes me believe he is regaining his confidence...earlier in the season he would have rushed the shot.

Just ridiculous.
If they can get dominate at home in the second half, they’ll be in great shape to take the division.

Well last night was shots fired. Destroying the league's best team at home. Hopefully all the road teams take notice are all scared when they come to the dome.

As long as he doesn't fight monsters any more. He is too game for his own good and he's gonna get destroyed again one day. He looked like he wanted a piece of Lucic last night and that would have ended very very badly.

I haven't checked but I felt like Lomberg had some decent minutes last night. Probably close to 15 mins. Coach must trust him.

He looks like a legit NHLer and not a tweener, and I am happy for him.

Bennett has become what we all knew he could be. It just sucks it wasn't here, but happy for him too.

interesting Lomberg was just over 11 last night- I agree he was in ways noticeable with those minutes. that total is actually low for him lately (makes sense, playing from behind on the road), earlier in the season looks like sub 10 was the norm, now 12-13

great story, but as an undersized, underskilled guy now in his mid- late 20s, every year is going to be a chore for him to stick. wish him well

He might not - but there's no way he's saying that either in public or in private (ie with his team). The message is that they are a tough out. And it's going to stay that way.

Now, if this were a game between the Ottawa Senators and the Atlanta Gladiators (both fine ECHL teams), maybe one could speak of a ‘Dominate’ performance. Like, it reminds one of the late Roman Empire because one of the teams is declining and falling? But not otherwise, and not tonight.

Unless, I suppose, there's a record of ancient Romans setting a panther on fire in the arena. That might be a ‘Dominate’ thing to do.
As a fan of Latin, this was a fun read. (Yes, I took many years of Latin in high school. It's a fine language to learn.)

Yeah, Lomberg sits in the bucket with Pitlick, Ritchie, Richardson, Lewis….can be replaced every year

On top of which the Panthers probably looked at the Flames' home record and thought they could get away with playing their backup.

Knight has been struggling. That’s for all young goalies, Knight, Hart, Swayman, Vladar…..Expectation were sky high for some of them. It’s how they come out of it. Some don’t.

These long breaks suck, but we are in for a busy few weeks starting Saturday.

Good to see both of the ex Flames in Bennett and Lomberg have found homes in the panthers lineup.

Exactly. Flames can't afford to take any team lightly right now, even the dumpster fire up north. The Flames' biggest issue when they play Edmonton is that they sometimes give McLotteryball too much respect, sit back, and give him way too much time and space to do his thing.

If they close those gaps and play a tighter checking game like they did against the Panthers last night, they'll beat the Oilers easily.
