I think Hrudey is better at colour ... not because of game knowledge, but more how long to talk and when to talk. He seems to have a seamless relationship with Ball.

But I like Campbell better on the panel. I think she's the better speaker than Hrudey and adds more interesting content.

Botterill is great too ... she and Bieksa have added a lot in the last couple of years.

Yeah, and I’m more than a little surprised. Sutter has really elevated his game, more than I thought possible.

I could see Johnny emerge as a team captain... all the right components.

I think Lucic with the current roster.

Johnny’s not as good with the media. Definitely a leader on the ice this season.

Could also help keep him here beyond the year. He might relish the opportunity and recognition.

I've definitely noticed Johnny hustling back way more this season. Whatever Sutter has said to him has paid off huge.......he's a far more complete player now. Kudos to Johnny for putting in the effort, he deserves the credit.

I wonder how Botterill would do as a colour analyst. She's great on HNIC.

Perhaps the Dome is playing Thriller and she's doing some zombie moves?

Darryl has accomplished something the other coaches couldn't get out of Johnny; When is the last time we saw him giving away pucks at either blue line? I think he did a bit when Sutter first arrived but that doesn't seem to be an issue now. Also, Johnny doesn't seem to shy away from the play as much (which I don't blame him) and is getting a lot more involved. Wouldn't mind seeing him with an alternate C that would be a real compliment especially if he signs!

York has impressed me between periods.

But the Flames are one of the best road teams in the league....

This road trip is a good test for them. I honestly worry about their homes games much more.

Glad to see Johnny comments. It lines up with the on ice eye ball test.

I think that there should be a shelf life to both colour and panel contributors. As time passes, their insights repeat themselves and become less relevant to the modern game.

I pretty much know what contribution Hrudey will make. When he was out for a few games, someone else (not Cassie) provided refreshing colour.

I wouldn't.

The Flames are the number one ranked team in terms of home ice xGF%, they are dominating at the Saddledome.

Just not finishing on home ice, 29th in shooting percentage, and iffy in goaltending (17th).

I rewatched the game on a replay yesterday. Especially in the second period the Flames looked really good. I wondered how they would come back after the long break. But they looked really good.

It’ll be interesting to see how they fare the next 3 games. Great benchmark.
