I personally don't think anything will happen with Giordano until the off-season. That's when I can see the Flames bringing him back, if it will happen at all. Gudbranson is having a good year - will he want a long term deal at higher money? Can he get it somewhere else? What about Zadorov - not having a great year, but not bad either. That one year deal makes me think he is looking somewhere else after this season (and he lives in Florida - maybe somewhere closer to home?).
I can see Giordano brought-in on a year-to-year term playing on the 3rd pairing with Valimaki (pushing Valimaki to the right, which he has experience playing in anyway). Still not sure it will really happen, however. Maybe someone else higher up the lineup also gets traded.
Unless the Flames go through a series of injuries, I don't think we will see Giordano brought back this season (if at all). In the off-season, depending on who stays and goes from the UFAs, or who this team ends up trading, and who else is wants to come here, then it may make sense to sign Giordano.
