The report is worth reading, if only to understand the evidence of the 3 contemporary witnesses and the 1 confidant as to what likely happened. It also provides a bit of a hint about what the legal defences are likely to look like.
At first I was frustrated that the interview didn't speak to what actually transpired, but having read the report I can see why they elected not to get into it. Hard to do in even summary fashion while still staying on air.

OMG. Just watching this interview in full. I can't handle this. He is apologizing to the high school player?? How heart breaking. So many lives knocked off the rails because of this crap. This should be forced viewing for anyone involved.

Think of how much money Quenneville has earned since 2010. At one point, he was the highest paid coach in the league. Had this not been covered up this whole time and had everyone knew Quenneville’s response to this when it happened… he likely never would have been allowed to be a part of the league ever again.

Lots of piling on Toews here and this is going to come across as defending him, which isn't my intent. Looks like he was 21 at the time of the incident? Perhaps he was also forced to keep hush about it from the higher ups. Does a 21 year old captain really have much power though in the organization?

This is true, but he is a grown man now, and he can admit he was wrong or apologize or say he is wishes he could have done more for his team mate.

Think it has more to do with him denying that he had ever heard about it . You got a couple of players backing Beaches story . Hard to believe that the captain of the team was oblivious to the rumours.
