I try not to get too worked up about vets in the pre-season, but Backlund has been particularly underwhelming

It's been a struggle to find any player playing with any passion this game. Of all of Tre's acquisitions this offseason (based on this game) I only like Vlader and Lewis. Otherwise I'd rather have a bunch of kids with some excitement in their play, in those lower roles.

Yup. Fully deserves the penalty for that brain dead play.

Not sure the Flames do hit 10 shots on goal this game, and almost certainly Hellybuck will have the easiest shutout of his entire life.

Flames are losing every single battle, every race to a loose puck. This might be their worst effort of the preseason, even counting those early games that had maybe 4 or 5 actual NHL players in them.

This group is just pathetic.
