there is room on NHL rosters for one dimensional defensemen. Mike Green, Brian Campbell, Keith Yandle, Tyson Barrie, Andy Delmore, Erik Gustafsson, Shane Gostesbiere, Alex Goligoski, to name a few.
If Poirier can be elite offensively, it will get him to the NHL
