I know I'm the outlier, but I'll wait until the season starts before making a decision on the Flames moves this year. Chemistry is a weird thing and maybe this year we'll have some.

I get that, and that’s why I’ve been pretty supportive (for the mode part) of the other depth signings. Gudbranson? Not even NHL caliber, and now takes away a decent chunk of space. He’s really living off of that 3rd OA pedigree.

I don't care whether the trade market was impossible or not, the fact that the only place treliving seems willing to improve is depth F/d is extremely disappointing as a fan.
My take is that flames know they suck, hence, unwilling to trade futures, so willing to invest around the edges in the hopes of fighting for a WC spot.
This franchise sucks to be a lifer fan of, ugh.

I'm the only one here but I don't mind this. Gudbransson is a leader and a great team first guy. His advanced stats are horrible but he's never been as bad as people made him out to be.
Having said that I don't see much logic in this signing regarding team building. Not that Treliving has had any eye for that anyway but still.
