Long term? guy is playing again...you are giving reasons he shouldn't be
This would be a good post after he opted out in the summer...nobody had an issue with it then though. The thing raising eyebrows is him playing in an far more risky environment now.
Lots of people had irrational issue with it then. Go read that thread again. It was embarrassing at times.
Edit: And now we can add Tanev showing up Hamonic and Markstrom showing up their sad attempt to replace him.
Sven/Andersson is a thing? Canuck fans didn't get the memo lol
Juolevi for Tkachuk jokes/insults are soooo 2016. It doesn't have an effect on Canuck fans that some here think it does. Having two elite calder players b2b erased the pain.
The Canucks have one of the best young exciting cores in the league and potentially two more high end prospects joining soon (Hog/Pod). I assure you, we aren't envious of the Calgary Flames. In fact, it's quite the opposite. Treleving loves him some former Canuck players that he went on shopping spree
Oh and Hamonic is replacing Stecher, not Tanev. We already upgraded on Tanev with Schmidt who fell on our lap because Treleving offered an insane contract to Tanev when JB was scrambling to improve the defence after losing out on OEL.
Marky is on the wrong side of 30, with back to back knee injuries, new goalie coach not named Ian Clarke and is signed for 6 more years. if you're not seeing red flags i dont know what to tell you.
Lol I think we found the David Staples of Vancouver.
At least Blaster can take a lick. You have your head fully submerged in the kool aid. So much mental gymnastics i think you jumped through your own rear twice to overcompensate for the undertones of butthurt.

Demko and Holtby are going to be just fine under Ian Clark.
Thatcher the Snatcher is entering his prime and chased Marky out of the #1 job and one is a former Vezina Cup winner that's only a year older than Markstrom.

what mental gymnastics did i do? lol
undertones of butthurt? where did you get that from what i posted?
I honestly don't know enough about Tanev to swing my pee pee around proclaiming hes better just because he is a Flame.
If we are checking boxes on which team got the better player the only thing I have is they may get a couple few more games played out of hammer than we will from Tanev. They both get hurt, theyll both miss games.
Now the real question is, which teams depth can better handle the loss of one of em. That box gets checked in CGYs favor. We have better depth.

Hahaha here come the Canucks fans.
Puffing their chests up, believing once again that they are something special. It's been awhile, always amusing.
Cant wait to hear the reports from you guys about Travis Hamonic 20 games in. Hes not good. Hes not tough. He doesnt throw hits. He backs in giving time and space till he cant anymore, then he goes down to block the shot screening your goalie as it goes off him into the net. Hes a detriment. You'll learn fast. I'm very excited hes a Canuck. Was hoping Oilers, but this is also nice.
Going to be lots of that pathetic Canucks fan sadness and crying when you realize how important Markstrom and Tanev were to cover up those warts.
Ahhh that extra special Canucks fan pain.
Let it burn.

Oilers suck.
Was part "Best D corp in Universe", also cost Flames 1 first round and 2 second round picks, 3 seasons of pure performance.
Now back to reality, nothing but tryout contract.
I just wanted to chime in and say that I thought very long and hard about continuing my job as professor, teaching in person, knowing full well that the students would be going out to restaurants and bars, and would be putting me at risk. In the end I made the choice to go back to work, but it was touch and go right up until the final day.
I've read too many stories of men my age, with young children, no underlying health conditions, dying from this virus. Hell, there is a congressman-elect in Louisiana who fits that description to a T who won't ever make it to capitol hill because he died from the virus before he could get there.
To sit around and pass judgment on Hamonic for making the choice to be there for his family, especially knowing that his father passed early in his life and how that may have affected him...seriously, to know all that and still sit here in judgement of him, it's unbelievable to me.
He didn't bail on his teammates, he signed up long-term to take care of his real team...his family.
I hope we all make the same choice when push comes to shove.
Just out of curiosity, what are you a professor of? I honestly find it mind boggling that someone healthy in their prime years of life could be afraid of dying from covid, especially if they have an even basic understanding of probabilities and statistics.
I'm honestly astounded that an educated person almost threw their career away for something with a negligible risk of death. And I'm genuinely curious to see your thought process and if it's based on any type of logic, or is just emotional reasoning.
