Maybe Canucks play in EDM given the practice rink at Rogers Arena and hotel right across the street.

So obviously Vancouver and Edmonton are rivals... what about out East? The Tkachuk Cup is kind of meh, and while Winnipeg will probably want to atone for what happened in the bubble, is there any bad blood with either Montreal or Toronto? Somebody needs to crosscheck Marner in the face or something... or maybe Brodie goes full Wideman and takes out one of our guys?

So this is a 100% go? Or is Vancouver final location in terms of a rink up in the air?

Yes, it's 100% a go.

Yes, Vancouver's final location is still up in the air.

Apparently, Ontario and Quebec haven't completely signed-off on it yet either, so the Leafs, Sens, and Habs are also potentially up in the air too.

Seems somewhat surprising that the nhlpa would agree to this, plan with the locations for several teams being up in the air

No it doesn't.

16 teams will still make the playoffs. One team will have to win 16 playoff games in order to be named Stanley Cup Champion.

Same as always.

1995 and 2013 don't have asterisks and they both had 48 game regular seasons.

I live in Quebec city... This post hurts..

In all honesty though, even if we ever get a team I will always be a Flames fan.

The top four teams in each division will qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, with intradivisional play in the first two rounds (#1 vs. #4; #2 vs. #3). The four teams that advance to the Semifinal Round would be seeded by their regular season points total, with the No. 1 seed playing the No. 4 seed in one series and the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds meeting in the other.
This is how it should be permanently next season when things are back to normal, and Seattle is in the mix; to have a balance of 8 teams for each division.

Isn’t Ontario going into lockdown starting the 24th? Is that going to affect anything?

I’m guessing they will be providing exemptions like Alberta is. Would expect Ford to address this exact question at his lockdown presser.
