I would be more disappointed if Pelletier gets cut than Zary...this is Pelletier's year to be on this team

I believe it's both players last chance.

It is. Zary has a late-September birthday, so his draft eligibility was delayed by a year, but this is his final year as a U20 player.

Team Sweden has been hit hard by Covid. They've lost their head coach, assistant coach, goalie coach, and video coach plus players Albin Grewe, Karl Henriksson, and William Eklund

Team USA had three players swapped out, although no confirmation if it was Covid

Team Germany lost 3 players from their roster due to Covid, Elias Lindner, Lukas Reichel and Nino Kinder

I'm losing confidence that the WJC will even happen, are they exempt under the new provincial restrictions?

I will be extremely disappointed with the province and IIHF if the WJC is happening amid these restrictions.

Why?
If the tournament is held in a bubble with testing done daily, like the NHL playoffs, then they’ve done their part to ensure everyone’s safety

I think it already started but the team is now in full bubble mode. No staff to stream and media not allowed in the building. Not even bringing any refs or linesmen.

FINAL – White 6, Red 4 | Kirby Dach (Fort Saskatchewan, Alta./Chicago, NHL) scored twice in the third period as part of a four-point game, and White scored three times in the final frame to earn a win over Red in an intrasquad scrimmage Wednesday at Canada’s National Junior Team Sport Chek Selection Camp.

Bowen Byram (Cranbrook, B.C./Vancouver, WHL) and Ryan Suzuki (London, Ont./Saginaw, OHL) added a goal and an assist apiece for White, while Connor Zary (Saskatoon, Sask./Kamloops, WHL) and Samuel Poulin (Blainville, Que./Sherbrooke, LHJMQ) had the other goals. Justin Barron (Halifax, N.S./Halifax, LHJMQ), Jack Quinn (Cobden, Ont./Ottawa, OHL), Alex Newhook (St. John’s, N.L./Boston College, HE) and Jamieson Rees (Hamilton, Ont./Sarnia, OHL) did the scoring for Red.

Andre Tourigny said the line of Connor McMichael, Kirby Dach and Cozens (White) and the other line of Dylan Holloway, Alex Newhook and Jakob Pelletier (Red) were the most impressive. #WorldJuniors

Mark Masters
@markhmasters
coach Andre Tourigny on Flames prospect Jakob Pelletier:

"He's the kind of player who makes others better. He had a good day yesterday & again tonight he was really reliable, bringing a lot of energy. He has a good presence on the bench. He does a lot of good things"

Another round of cuts. Zary and Pelletier remain in camp.

Mark Masters @markhmasters
Team has released:

Goalies Brett Brochu & Tristan Lennox

Forwards Adam Beckman, Tyson Foerster, Hendrix Lapierre, Cole Schwindt & Shane Wright

So, 34 players remain ... nine more cuts to come after tonight's final intra-squad scrimmage

3 more D and 6 more forwards to be cut, assuming they go with 3G, 8D and 14F

They might both make it. I would cut:

Bourque
Rees
Goncalves
Clarke
Poulin
Jarvis

Before our guys based on camp performance thus far.
