Burke saying the hit on Myers is clean while the Bennett hit was ugly...that dude has just lost his damn mind.

Why do we need an old blabbering fool on the panel? Why?

Binnington has not been good so far. If he doesn't pick it up, they're done

Fortunately the Canucks have never lost a series after being up 2-0...

I have to say- I will always hate the canucks based on history. But I can't think of a player I really hate on the current canucks, maybe roussell. Thinking back to the days of Bieksa, Kesler, Lapierre, Burrows, Kassian and Sestito where my top five hated players were all on on team.
Hughes is a treat to watch. Based on his size I was wondering how he'd do in a playoff series. The blues are getting their licks in (especially Perron), but he seems to be weathering the storm.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not cheering for them. I just don't have the level of hate I had in the kesler/bieksa days right now. Whomever the flames match up better against is who I want to win.
Though, if the other series continue their trends, IF the flames were to beat the stars we likely have a date with the Avs or the knights next.
Once again, the Canucks best players were a lot better than the Blues best players. Good formula for winning.
I’d love for the Flames to try it out tonight.

The first season Horvat has been remotely close in production. It actually is possible for players/teams to have off years and recover from it. But at the ripe old age if 25, yeah Monny might be done.

As much as we laugh at Benning he’s done a better job than Treliving in building his team, other than Juolevi his drafting and free agent signing have been on point.

Isn’t that what Bo Horvat just did to win his team the game? It’s actually a pretty good play because you end up forcIng the defender back which prevents them from pinching and keeping the puck in the zone which is that line’s Kryptonite.

Back on the topic of Bo Horvat though, what a player he has turned out to be. I remember watching him in his rookie season and being extremely impressed. Sure hate the Canucks, but wow do they have themselves a heck of a leader.

Damn fans are fickle sometimes. Flames are tied 1-1 after making a comeback but losing in the last minute while the Nucks are up 2-0 after blowing a lead but winning in OT. Pretty small sample size to say the Nucks have passed the Flames.

I got #### on a few weeks ago for saying the nucks rebuild is looking better than the Flames because they actually have elite talent up the middle and a #1 dman who isn't about to turn into dust and blow away.

Makes me sick, but it's true.

The Flames would easily win a five game series against the Canucks.

The Blues have outplayed the Canucks two straight games, but are down 2-0 due to special teams, unlucky bounces and goaltending. I expect the Blues will eventually grind the Canucks down with their physicality. Knocking out Myers was the first evidence of that.

'Nucks look good. Young, fast and hungry.

Anyone else remember game 7 of the 1989 playoff series we had with them? I remember Trevor Linden going in on pure breakaway in OT and thinking "season is over". He got stoned. Turns out that was by far the toughest series the Flames had on the way to the cup. I love the Flames and always enjoyed our matchup with them through the years.

Except that isn't how the games have gone at all. The Canucks have kept the Blues to a lot of perimeter shots and been lethal on special teams. I don't expect it to keep up, but the Canucks are full value for this right now. Especially in this game where the refs tried to tilt the ice one direction.

But yes, their physicality will eventually see this change.

The Blues have lost all 5 games so far but have been looking better with each one.

When they win one, they are going to win a few in a row. This series is far from over.

Horvat wouldn't necessarily have developed the same here. He had 4 years sheltered behind the Sedins to learn an all around game and grow into his role. Monahan was thrown into the #1C role pretty much right away.

Just more magnified in the playoffs guess. They get outchanced by less than double(though still outchanced) for the first time in years and suddenly they're the new favorite.

I don’t recall that at all.

I remember a lot of people thinking that the most likely choice in that spot was Lindholm, Monahan, or Horvat. One of the big three C on the board still.

And in reality Monahan was the better player at the time, Horvat just really improved his skating (it was seen as weak in his draft year and even rookie season) and it’s made him a better 200ft Center.

Flames should send every young player and Monahan and Tkachuk to Kathy McIlwain who is Horvat’s skating coach.

The difference between drafting a decent playoff making team and a playoff winning team is mm thin and completely unpredictable in truth, there is little difference between the Nucks and Flames, both teams drafted a good core with their high draft picks, its a crap shoot after that, and never forget, they are both better than the Oilers
