Draisaitl and McDavid are the two biggest whiners in the league. If they make the playoffs it's going to be unbearable watching them complain about every little thing that doesn't go their way.

I loved how McPerfect said he wasn't going to raz on the refs and then did exactly that. And WTF Tippett? Compares the OT trip to all that stuff everyone does to his prize player throughout the game. The cases of soothers they must go through in that organization!!

Just a thought. With the new players getting top billing with McPerfect, did Holland forget that Keeper of the Code and all round super nice guy Kassian will be back soon? Who will he play with now?

Can anyone find a clip of the McDavid penalty in OT? I stopped watching and missed, doesn't seem to be on the highlight clips of the game I watched, which seems weird to me.

I don't complain about reffing as its bad everywhere so it goes around and comes around. Soft call if you ask me though.

I've seen McDavid go down easy plenty of time this season drawing penalties so turnabout is fair play. If he doesn't like it then maybe he should stop diving himself.

It’s amazing to me how quickly their media and players forget all the soft calls McDavid has drawn over the years.

I mean that penalty shot he got when Wideman didn’t even touch him was laughable. Tippett and McDavid’s comments were embarrassing on every level.

He's a RFA with arbitration rights. They will overpay. he will settle into a mediocre player. There's a reason Detroit marketed him over the many other RFAs they have to sign.

I happen to think he won't mesh that well with McDavid. He likes to race down the wing with the puck - that's McDavid's job. He has tunnel vision and doesn't seem to use linemates much. McDavid needs a guy who can din open ice, settle into a spot and finish what McDavid starts. Ennis has a much better chance of sticking on a line with McDavid IMO.

My overall point, however, is that there's only one puck and, if AA gets 20 on a line with McDavid, how's that different than Chiasson getting 20 on a line with McDavid in 2018-19? Or Kassian having 15 this year?
He will settle into a "mediocre" player and score 20 goals a year in your opinion? Those 2 things don't add up. Listen I get the fact that the Oilers can do no right in the majority of this boards eye, but they acquired a 25 year old with speed/skill, that is an RFA, that can be slotted on the wing of either Draisaitl or Mcdavid, who has shown he can produce at a high level in the NHL. I will bet he scores 30+ next year if healthy on the wing for either Mcdavid or Draisaitl.

For a team whose success is directly corelated to their power play, they sure do whine about officiating a lot.

Oilers get all the calls... Meanwhile Oilers are 18th in the league in penalties drawn and 14 behind the flames. 15th in the league in net penalties at +4.

Penalties don't equal power plays.

The Oilers have had 186 power play oportunities in 63 games ( 18th)

The Flames have had 184 in 64 games (19th)

Agree that what? That a team that is just below the league average on powerplay oportunities has no business whining about officiating. Especially when they are way below the league average (8th) in terms of times they have to go short handed?

They don't get all the calls.

However, McDavid has drawn countless penalties for simply being touched, sometimes not even.

Basically you guys don't really have grounds to complain about it going the other way now and then. Phantom tripping calls happen to all of us.

Be thankful for a point. You got that PP that helped get you to OT to begin with.

I don’t complain about reffing (or try my best not to) because as I said what goes around comes around. I’m just poking fun at the narrative that’s around here every time the oilers play.

And yah I’m happy with the point. The first half of the game was about the worst they have played in months.

If we don't have blind unsubstantiated hatred for the Oilers, then we have nothing.
