So. All we literally have to do is win the game on Sunday and we have the division/conference Haha.

Or, alternatively, beat the Ducks tomorrow and watch the Sharks lose to Vegas on Saturday. That would also clinch the *division for the Flames.

Pretty great night on the OOT. Oilers lose. Sharks lose.

If the Flames can take care of business this weekend, the division (and conference) is ours.

It is weird that both the Flames and Sharks are just going through the motions these last few games. I'll take it.

Nope, Jets can still get 104. Flames need more than one win for the conference...technically.

Man is the West looking weak this year. A few weeks ago it was strong at the top but a joke at the bottom. Now the top teams are limping to the finish line. Flames could be only team with 100 points.

My mistake. Thanks for pointing that out.

To clinch the Pacific Division, the Flames need either two more wins, two more Sharks losses, or a Flames win and a Sharks loss.

To clinch the Western Conference, the Flames need to get up to 104 points and 48 ROW (they've won the season series against the Jets).

West has a better record against the east head to head (last I checked) Points are just more spread out

Any Flames win now will be lamented and criticized by a certain sector of the board for “not saving it for the playoffs”.

Sorry again, but technically the Sharks could win the division if they lost once and the Flames won one. That's assuming the Flames win in the shootout (and lose every other game) and the Sharks win every other game in regulation.

That would give the Flames 103 with 47 ROW and the Sharks 103 with 47 ROW and the tie breaker.

Pretty much impossible but insert Lloyd's "so you're telling me there's a chance."

Ack, I stipulated somewhere else earlier that the Flames would need regulation wins to do this. Clearly I'm up too late.

Magic numbers:
Sharks 2.5
Jets 2

Sharks can get to 105 points, and the Flames haven’t clinched the tie breaker yet. The Flames have 47 ROW and the Sharks have 43 with 5 games to play. There is still a scenario where both teams finish with the same points, and the Sharks have 48 ROW while the Flanes have 47 ROW.

The Jets can get to 104 points and 43 ROW also. Same as above, the Jets could tie the Flames in points and have 48 ROW while the Flames have 47 ROW.

I was hoping to have clinched before the end of the homestand, but will be happy if we have clinched by the end of the weekend.

Tonight makes me less grumpy about our last few losses. Jeebus San Jose sucks.
