I love that the LA Kings feed was showing the wild card race..........and didn't even have the Oilers on the graph. lol.

Dallas wins in OT. Huge point for them.

Worst OT I've watched in a while for sure. Both teams seem painfully slow after the VGK FLA OT earlier.

Out of Minnesota, Dallas, Colorado and Arizona the only team I do not want to see in round 1 is Dallas. Bishop has proven to be a monster in the playoffs, Zuccarello will be back and we all know what Benn and Seguin do to the Flames.
Not convinced on the Knights remaining where they are, the Coyotes can still catch them. The Bhawks are still a realistic possibility for the Flames to play against in round 1.

Geez,

Don't look now, but the Arizona Coyotes have won 5 in a row and are 8 and 2 in their last 10.

Mind you, 4 of the last 5 wins came against Vancouver (x2), Florida, and the lowly Edmonton Oilers. But they did beat the Jets as well, so there's that.

The Coyotes are behind Minnesota by 1 point and Dallas by 2 points for either of the wild card spots. They're playing some pretty strong hockey at the right time of year and neither of Minny or Dallas look that great these days.

I think it's a very strong possibility that they make the playoffs this year. Looking at that roster, that's a Herculean effort by Rick Tocchet and his staff to get this sort of performance out of those players. Hell, Brad Richardson had a 4 goal game last night and now has 16 goals on the year.

Brad. Richardson.

Their top scorer has all of 41 points. Raanta has only played 12 games due to injury. Other key injured players out for pretty much the entire year: Demers, Grabner, and Schmaltz. That's a lot of key talent out for a team that didn't have much to begin with.

I guess I'm sort of in awe of their ability to win games. They should be in the same territory as Ottawa, but due to a weak West, they have a chance to get a few playoff games. I'm under no illusion that they actually do anything in the playoffs should they get there, but it's a nice story nonetheless.

Here are a few games.

1 at 4

Tampa Bay suffered multiple lightning strike attacks by the Bruins as Boston scored 3 goals in 86 seconds during the 3rd period. Domingue was in net for Tampa and he was the reason the game was close at 1-0 for Boston. The shots were 32-9 for the Bruins after 2 periods. He was pissed after the Bruins made it 4-0 by slamming and breaking his stick.

3 at 4 in overtime

It was a big game for the BJs as the ROW puts them in a playoff spot, a point up on the Penguins and Hurricanes. Seth Jones scored the GWG in OT with 33 seconds left. Panarin had 2 points. The Flyers have now lost 14 straight when playing in Columbus. Elliot was in net for the Flyers and played a strong game in the loss as he made 36 saves. Both teams had goals called back.

LOL to the Leafs, they got humiliated. The Islanders are up 2-0 in the season series so far and they play once more on the Island in a month on April 1, expect the same hostile and nasty environment as we saw last night. Sparks and Lehner have been the goalies in both games. The shots by the Leafs on Lehner in both games have been impressive and consistent, 35 last night and 36 in the first game. Tavares time on ice in both games are nearly identical, 5 shots in each game, a -1 in the first game, even in this game, and no points in either game. Komarov had a point in this contest.

In their past 10 games they have also beaten the Stars, Knights, and Leafs all in reg time. Darcy Kuemper is the #1 goalie and has been playing well in net for the Coyotes during this stretch where he has played in 9 of these games. Tocchet should be in the Jack Adams conversation.

Yotes have 2nd easiest schedule in the league down the stretch, behind only Flames.
Would love to see them stay red hot and grab a wild card, or even bounce Vegas down to wildcard. Yeah, it's probably unlikely, but only 6 back with 1 game in hand and get the Knights 1 more time this season.

What would really be great would be to see Vegas fall right out of playoffs.

Regardless, not concerned about any first round matchup for the Flames.

Getting Demers and Grabner back soon will be a charge too. But it'll be tough. The man games lost this year, we should be 31st in the league
