Saw a lot from him tonight to be honest...hoping he is able to continue... what i like about him more than Neal is that his speed really puts the other team on their heels... If Neal isn't able to get his one timer back, he doesn't add very much on the ice as it sure seems like he's lost half a step imo
Hockey players are inherently inconsistent.

The established ones just have a huge leash.

Huge 2 points. We win our game in hand and are now up by 3 on SJ. Team was dialed in. I have a little reservations with Tkachuk on the top line. They obviously are still working on some chemistry between them, but defensively they can be worked. I just felt more comfortable with Lindholm on that line. Time will tel.

There's a reason Brodie was benched for a while. He was the real reason for those 2 goals.

At this point I really would not be upset to see Brodie moved out for some additional help up front. When he's on his game he's great, but when he's not it really costs the team. And with Andersson, Kylington, and Valimaki all showing great promise I don't think the Flames miss a beat on the back end without Brodie

Finally got to see a win live! The last four games I went to they lost in OT/SO (Dallas, Vancouver, Tampa, Buffalo). What a fantastic team effort! Smith was good again, Backlund was amazing, the third and fourth lines continue to roll. Really have no complaints about this one. I’m not even going to complain about Brodie.

Smith has been found money from the boneyard. Play him until the wheels fall off.

Just got home from the Dome. Great game. Glad to see Johnny get the monkey off his back. Glad we were able to beat a very solid Islanders team. I've always had a soft spot for their team and my close friend I went to the game with's second team is the Islanders. I'm glad their doing well this year and hope they do well in the playoffs. The next meeting in New York should be interesting after how rowdy it got in the 3rd.

Feels weird for other teams fans to be so complementary of our team.

I do wish the Islanders well.

I think its an assessment from a game in the future because I thought Kylington was pretty bad tonight. Multiple bad turnovers and giveaways.

The flames would be in deep trouble without their second line centre. Weird post.

My other favourite was “teams play the Oilers like game 7 of the cup finals and the Flames like it’s pre-season” as if the Oilers are some intimidating force that teams have to get up for. It couldn’t possibly be because the Oilers suck and the Flames are good. It must be the other teams.

How out of touch with reality do you have to be to make a comment like that, let alone believe it?

I laughed at that too, and googled it

From a site called fansided:

Keith was affectionately nicknamed “Big Walt” by former teammate Eddie Olczyk, who tagged him with the name because his surname was so similar to Walter Tkaczuk, who played for the New York Rangers

I always look at teams playing the Oilers as playing the 7th game of the Stanley Cup and playing the Flames like it's the first game of pre-season. That's why plenty of people here think that they'll be bounced in the first or second round when teams need to show up.
Or...........the Oilers have an AHL-caliber roster and the Flames have a roster that can actually compete in the NHL?

The Oilers got the Coyotes on the 2nd night of a back to back..........and lost. Enough said.

Yeah... Daniel Tkaczuk got it too.

Hockey nicknames aren't always the most creative.

Old-timey whiskey-drinking sportswriters in fedoras chomping stogies were far more inventive.
