If there is one thing Lowe truly truly loathes, it’s the team getting embarrassed and trashed in the national media. That’s his barometer. He’s always sucked up to the national media, never mind controlled the local media, and has always been able to sell the hope that the Oilers have and the media gives him and the club a pass.

But when the national guys give up on the Oilers, Lowe takes it serious because the deeper th dig the more signs point to him as being the only consistent these last 15+ years.

Last time they got embarrassed on a weekend they fired the coach on Monday. Weekend is not over and there’s potential for the Ducks to really put the boots to a team that has no desire to do anything.
