Probably only included so the Hawks stay at 49 contracts, otherwise they would be at the 50 contract limit

Who are Manning and Norell?

Two guys who have never been in my kitchen?

Drake Caggiula always seems to score on us. Glad he's gone. Thanks Chiarelli!

Maybe Katz realised that the Oilers were drifting too far from having a shot at this years first overall, his one moment of fame every year, so demanded that moves be made to ensure they suck closer to the bottom. Who wants playoffs when you can have a team of first overall picks??

So the Oilers moved out two forwards this week. Who is going to take their place?

It looks like they've recalled some dude named Joseph Gambardella.

I'm almost too amazed to even laugh.

Caggiula was possibly the best contract on Oilers. At $1.5M he's actually quite cheap for scoring depth.

Hopefully the fued between Manning and McDavid poisons the dressing room and creates a rift. An unhappy McDavid who wants out would just be terrific.
1. Because Chicago has at least 7 better D-men than Manning. And...

2. Manning is a 28 year old mid-level AHL calibre D-man who has no business being anywhere near an NHL team.

Then he is exactly where he should be.

I feel like this is some sort of spy-novel level stuff and one day we are going to find out that the Flames groomed Chia as an undercover agent and managed to infiltrate the old boys club, become GM and tear it down from within.

It really is the only explanation that makes any sense.

The thing is....these moves dont make the team appreciably better in any capacity, in fact, they seem to make the team worse in many aspects.

Really? Weird Mandella effect, I thought the same thing (was certain he had a 2 goal game, maybe he just had a few breakaways).

7 goals on that smouldering pile of tires for only $1.5M and they trade him. You seriously can’t make this stuff up.
