I will be 100 years old and on my deathbed, telling my great grandkids how bad Glen Gulutzan sucked. Because that's how bad he did suck. We will never forget.

Forgetting is how we repeat the mistakes of the past.
We must think to ourselves: "Is this thing something that Glen Gulutzan would do?"
And if it is, we absolutely must not do that thing.

I need to be clearer. If Peters does something that compares favorably to GG, that's comment worthy to me.
It's just the repetitive pointless "LOL, GG's hair, ammirite" ones that get tedious.

Well, the way Peters has handled Brodie compares very favourably to how Gutluzan did it, so this fits. Especially in the context of the original post praising the change in Brodie's game.
The irony here is that complaining about that created a lot more Gulutzan talk than would otherwise have occurred. Basically, a kind of Streisand Effect.

Pretty much.
Brodie struggled mightily the last two years, all of a sudden theres a different haircut behind the bench nd hes playing in his natural position and hes a really good player again.
The finger of blame practically points itself on that one and that pointing it out is simply natural.
Coming in and saying 'Leave Glen Gulutzan ALONE!!' serves nothing other than to draw more attention to Ol' Gul's many, many flaws.
Brodie went from stud to dud to stud and guess who was responsible for the dud years? It doesnt seem unreasonable that Gulutzan should shoulder the blame for that.

Oh come on. That's not what I said.
I just think that in a world where the team is doing well, we can continue to talk about Gully or we can talk about more interesting things.
But nowhere did I say Leave GG Alone did I?
I don't appreciate my words being twisted around.
I said this: "At what point can we just agree to be happy with have a new coach and just stop talking about Gully?"
NOT Leave GG Alone
I mean what I say and I say what I mean. So don't twist it around to be something that it isn't.

Janko really asserted his will on that game. Great to see it and his abundant talent coming through. Just some great tools on his line: Hathaway with his strength, forechecking can get puck to Janko and his vision. Dube should be able to dart into open areas. I’m sure they can be deadly off the rush too.
Ryan is starting to come on too. PP2 had a great set up and it’s unlucky he had a bobble or that could’ve been a goal but moreover Ryan and Czarnik showing some great speed and ability. Only a matter of time for Neal who looked more energetic- more jump.
The promise has to manifest in performance but you can see it coming!

I was agreeing with JH, not commenting on a particular post. And I'm not some GG fan, just really bored with it.
As for Brodie, I'd rather praise Peters, Gio and Brodie himself, than whine about last year. And in fairness, Hanifin, as well as the rookie twins, has made a lot possible that didn't exist with Hamilton needing the ice that he did.

Jankowski has, in a couple shorthanded situations, really figured out his size and reach. He needs to translate that into even strength and then he might even find himself on the powerplay, instead of, say, Ryan. If he could get good at tipping and screening, plus be nearly as good at faceoffs as Ryan, that would happen.

I would already put Janko in for Ryan on the PP.. Or at least half the time..

Hell, I'm still pissed at Greg Gilbert and his handling of Savard.
There's something about these ginger coaches. Or guys whose first and last names both start with G's.

Gulutzan was possibly the most divisive topic of last season so not surprised to see people continue to hammer home the conclusion of that debate. There's probably a little bit of "I told you so" in some of these comments but I think a bit of ribbing is warranted. I remember even in the last quarter of last season when the wheels totally fell off that some people were adamant Gulutzan wasn't a problem. It really was pretty amazing to see people try to mathematically explain why he was a good coach when the team was a complete mess.
Anyhow I'm just glad that not only is the team doing well, but the hockey is actually fun to watch again. The last 2 seasons almost killed my enjoyment of the sport.
