Rittich won the game as 1 of the 3 breakaways go in and there's a good chance we lose.
Bennett is so snake bitten it isn't funny but knowing he can play this beast mode of scoring isn't working is awesome.
Tkachuk and Bennett on the same line are so fun to watch. Post whistle it's like they are brothers and have each other's back before looking to skate away.
Neal could have really used his size tonight. He turned away from some big hit opportunities and sometimes that can engage a guy into a game and start getting him the breaks he needs.
To not be a complete homer, McDavid is one hell of a player and I could only imagine what he does with any other team. He surprised me with his strength in post whistle scrums and holding his own.

Great result. This is a team I can feel good about cheering for again this year. I hope that watching from the Oilers' side Gulutzan recognizes in a loss like this the reason he is no longer a head coach, that he was so much of the reason the Flames couldn't come back like this in the last two years.
Such a relief to have a team to cheer for again. Feels great.

On that note with Lucic: he got bumped up after that scrum where Backlund and Tkachuk ended up on top of McDavid. Maybe that's the secret to defending him: throw a hit on McDavid and let McLellan neutralize him with Lucic?

Did the fourth line see the ice in the third? I might have seen Jankowski but can't remember Hathaway or Dube.

Seriously. This is so bitter sweet as a Flames and Neal fan. I really want Neal to breakout but how can he find any time with the top 3 after the way Lindholm has just slid right into pure magic with Johnny and Monny.

What can't be lost in the win is how bad the PP was. We should have put it away early with a good PP

Just a few odd things...
Kypreos saying Tkachuk should have fought Kassian?
Burke saying Flames need tough guys and the game won't finish well without them...
The amount of posters calling quits in the GDT knowing how good we are in the 3rd.
People just need to take a chill pill. Look at the bright side Rittich is stepping up and Bennett is our toughest player out there which should end the trade thread.

Bennett has been a revelation for me this season. As the expectations for him shift, he has been able to really shine with his intangibles.
I don't mean to be insulting, but Lance Bouma had a similar impact in 2014-15. His intensity and shot blocking really helped the team rally that year. Of course they are different caliber of players, but Bennett has similarly been able to inject life into the team repeatedly this season.

Tkachuk has been careful about protecting his head, doesn't need to take punches.

I hate the call on Kassian. Should have been gone and suspended. Had he landed a punch on Tkachuk and Tkachuk is out for a while he is suspended but because Tkachuk isn't hurt it's not a big deal. The outcome shouldn't be how things are called, it should be the intent.

Burke's twisted logic on that one makes me happy he's no longer with the organization.

Throw in Hamonic, Hanifin, Neal as well. Along with surprise me once, Derek Ryan.
Actually the only goats that come to mind maybe are Gaudreau and Andersson.
